Basically, a turbo impeller rotational speed is mostly limited by the exzos back pressure within the system. If one could eliminate some/most of this exhaust back pressure, the turbo should be able to spool much faster n less restriction resulting in quicker engine response n increased HP. The reason I chose the AR downpipes is because it claimed to be the only TRUE 3" catless downpipes currently on the market with 3" tubing throughout until cat-back flange, with the least amount of bends possible. That is quite an upgrade compared to the factory diameter of 2.50" (other aftermarket DP's ranges from 2.75" to 2.50" in diameter). After installing the AR dp I have felt a faster, more powerful and more responsive engine because the turbo impeller now has the ability to spool much faster, apart from an intoxicating and erotic sound of my exhaust  AR claimed that typical gains from this downpipe (with tuning) is around 30bhp range.
