Does anyone have any direct experience with them? I understand Jaafar is quite well known in Motorsport circles and has a reputation for being quite pricey. Please chime in with your opinions.

I frequent there a lot when I was still driving my honda....yup, it is quite pricey but I like the workmanship... ;)

fixed my sis' exhaust there.
ok on pricing, ok on goods, ok on workmanship.

wish they could do something on the dented exhaust manifold though.

Jaafar is a good guy, and it was my pleasure doing business w him.

Expensive? What do you guys expect for good workmanship, free?

If there's a shop offering JFA's quality for cheaper price, PLEASE post it here and enlighten all of us.

I had my e34 12 vlv rear muffler sent to him for a rebuild.my end in mind was to have the low end bassy burble during idle, fixed.this sound was due to the internal pipes having been corroded and holed.

yes he's a nice chap and he's expensive.the work took 6 hrs.he cut the upper half of the muffler and replaced 2 of the internal corroded pipes and packed it up with fibreglass.

the improvement was marginal.yes it was less noisy at idle than before but not to my expectations.not a standard stock muffler sound, which was what i wanted.at cruise all's ok.the cost?rm400.this was over a year ago.

Can you PM me his contact number.

Thanks

Dude,

Bring our car there and you wont regret it. I have been going there for about 10 years too. His prices are not cheap cheap. But I think it is relatively cheap for the workmanship and the quality of the job. :yahoo:

Put it this way, from my experience, I dare vouch that his place is not a potong leher place. :yahoo:

vinson,
u did something at his place?

thanks for the good info :D

:yahoo:

Known this guy for years, Jaafar is pricey ....hhhmmmmm

My personal experience, customised my brother exzos tip for DTM look, charged for RM40. modification of my muffler, customised my exzos tip and to make the sound like M5 (what Jaafar claim), was charged RM650 for 2 days job.
I am more than happy to pay him that amount looking at how the job done.

Jaafar is a nice guys and always accomodating to yr request. If not why his w/shop always full everyday with all kind of cars from expensive sports car to kancil ? Should you walk-in without prior arrangement/appointment, you might end-up waiting for few hours.

An incident happen at JFA.

Last few months someone brought his e36 to JFA. After the work was done, he asking for 'hutang' and mentioned one of the BMW Club Advisor name and claimed that the Advisor is his good friend and mentioned he is the member of BMW Club also. Unfortunatelly the e36 guy goes missing.

morale of the story : Someone is using somebody name, known to Jaafar to ask for 'hutang' and Jaafar allow it. - I don't know why Jaafar allowed this.

When asked him about the incident, this is what Jaafar said :
'Tak pe, dugaan tuhan pada aku, aku pun tak jatuh miskin kalau dia tak bayar'

Just to share a story here.

For the BMW my miserable AC replica tailpiece came from JFA. No $$$ o make my car soound like 8 pot. Nontheless, I have brought my other cars to him. Other than the exhaust, he did a good job on one of my car's intercooler pipes as well. His welsding works are top notch. I like the circular patterns of his welding works. Thats what I call quality.:D

Latest edition of Hypertune...
U can see the JFA add next to BMC air filter. Phone/fax no u can fine it there...

Will be going to JFA this friday to get my BMC fix.. :yahoo:
Take Care
