They tempered the mileage in Japan before they start the paperwork. Friend of mine got an e39 with only 20k++ km. Just like all other believers that it is the actual mileage. Then got its LCM read and came up as 80k++ km. That is for a 4 yr old car. 80k++ km is still good for a 4 yr old car so it's all good. Mileage alone does not represent the condition of the car entirely. What is important is the service history.

You are absolutely correct tamada.Unfortunately the recon cars rarely if ever have service history. Has anyone got a recon car with the manual and service booklet intact.

Stay in Japan for 1 year than u will know how do Japanese transportation works and why their car mileage so low even its a 5 years old car...

If Uk specks have lower mileage for a 5 years old car thats i have doubt

Low is low, but my dads car, 6 years old when he bought it, and only 3000 KM on it, I found hard to believe

LCM is light control module, it also records your mileage, as do your keys

bro how to check the LCM mileage arh and how to compare it to the speedometer arh? sorry me noob.

I was told the pomen need to plug in the OBD(on-board diagnostic) thingy to pull the data out from the ECU. There is a mileage register in the ECU that's un-erasable.. unless the ECU pun tukar la. :D Ask your pomen. If he say dunno.. sack him/her.. :D

How about go take a few of your friend's japan recond e46 or e39 and read their LCM then you will know why all recond japanese cars here in malaysia have such a low mileage. Oh btw if you want to adjust your mileage let me know and i will hook you up.

In the second hand/recond car industry there are so many tricks that those business do to make their car more appeal than others. When they can sell, it means profit. Main objective is to sell their cars as fast as possible because car price depreciate with time. Thus they will do anything to push their cars out to the market.

50k mileage for a 4 year old car sounds very realistic. Those cars that are 6 years old with 3000 km worry me a little. Not saying it cant be genuine, but find it hard to believe, thats like an average of 500km a year, I could do that in a day if I wanted to

I Think It Is True~~ My Japanese Boss Told Me In Japan They Consider Mileage Above 10k Is Old Car N Ready To Change For New Car!! They Are Damn Rich I Think!! That's Y We Have So many Recond Car~~
