Hi...! Just want to share and find out...am I the Only One?I got my drive late last year...and within one month in April, i scratched my rim against the kerb twice! Same rim! I am driving very carefully esp at corners now. What could have gone wrong?p/s. Admin kindly move this post if I post in the wrong section. :p

Yes, it's the driver to blame and not the car. In my case, it's the side skirt, not the rim when my wife drove it few months back when she make a left turn into a street and hit the kerb. It never happened to me for the whole duration I owned the car.

..its about ya, but dont ya worry, it will all set just fine, just keep distance in turtle mode :) .. if ya try Z, you will feel even more weird, as you sitting pretty much on back wheels, so whole steering is kind a ..weird :)

Not to worry, it's pretty normal with BMW due to the stretched front with the short overhang, more so if you are not familiar with BMW. So it's both the car AND the driver. My wife kena many times when taking parking ticket or toll tickets because ladies hand shorter and they tend to drive nearer to the booth.. habis lor.

Our first week of E90 ownership, went to Tmn Tun for breakfast, side parking straight away curb the front wheel.. and also the bottom of the front bumper.. mind u we are on standard shocks, not lowered MSport even.. :4:

Well I guess this is a universal problem(?) for most drivers. And man does it gives you a heartache looking at that itsy bitsy teeny weeny scratch on the rims.......ouch!! Guess need to know the car well to avoid it....

Yeah...I guess it's a matter of getting used to the physics of the car, and maybe the torque as well, maybe?

Yes, very much so...the heartache too! I did sent for repair, the first shop was very good! For the second repair, because of the bumper hit I mentioned to you when I asked for the contact, was done lousy. But the bumper job was splendid!

much worst if your car comes wt active steering. Normally I very careful when parking. I rather go out and check if not sure or confident. Shit happens. Care the car it will take care of u

Hmm...not sure if I have that on my steering! But i do know the steering wheel is very sensitive, hence maybe thats how I hit the kerb when I steer it a bit too much too soon at corners?

Really upsetting right? It happens too fast, wish we could turn back time...lol

It's not expensive to repair the rims but it's very inconvenient and time consuming because you have to remove the rims, replace with a temporary rim, let them fix it then switch it back again :) I had the same problem on one of my rim even though I'm a very careful driver.
