It is clear film designed to reduce stone chipping and bug damage on painted surfaces but not to protect the structural due to collision or hard hit. In tropical country like malaysia, yellowish is the main effect for all protective film over the time, but this product can withstand the consistent hot weather for at least  3yrs. From what i know, the application is meant to be permanent; however, it can be removed if desired. Actually, there are two main product for 3M PPF.1. Scotchgard PPF rolls - A high-grade, colorless urethane film applied to high-impact areas of your vehicle that take the brunt of damaging road debris. Excellent for hoods, mirror backs, rocker panels, etc.2. Scotchgard PPF Films - A yellowing resistant, clear protection film for reducing stone chipping and bug damage of painted surfaces. Excellent for hoods, valances, rocker areas, etc. This product usage is still low due to its price and it is aftermarket product which mean it is not built-in during car manufacturing.
