Shamsul Yunos write in Page 6:"Most of the caustic comments and harsh words uttered about their seven and five were allegedly from enthusiasts who are not actually BMW buyers; they are aspirants and currently driving second hand BMWs out of passion for the brand"* emphasis is mine.Oucch? :D Wat U think? :D

an ouch! also ...

so he means the one who bought new bmw are the one who have passion for the brand ...

He's a pretty good motoring writer. I'll put him on par with Denis Wong of Autocar. He also co-presents a motoring show on local TV. His comments on the Picasso were relevant and insightful. Not at all like some of the others.

I agree with his comments. Bimmer magazine's often sarcastic remarks on the Roundel's readership's obsession with 80s BMWs supports this. Then again, they make a really good point - how long will it take before iDrive, Dynamic Drive, Active Steering, etc. becomes too expensive / complicated to repair?

Some people do have the BMW passion and enthusiast but take advantage of used prices as savings. I would think thats good economic thinking.

What you are saying is that, given a choice between:

A brand new Aston Martin and an E30, the enthusiast will go for an E30?

A barnd new 911 and E34, the enthusiast will go for an E34?

... all because depriciation is a factor?
