I doubt it since it will markedly jack up the cost and knowing our tax structure here, will render it unfeasible. It looks like BMW is committed to Diesel tech with the launch of the new X3 with the same engine as the 320d - that should silent the critics of the BMW engines being unreliable with our 'dirty' diesel I hazard a guess that the new 3 series 'd' model (slated for end next year) will probably be mated to the 8 speed gearbox as the X3 and 520d. If we are lucky, maybe we may get the 325d instead. That would have been absolutely delicious too Get the 320d pre-reg now (nov2010, not march/may ones, since for the same price, u get the 135kW engine). It's gonna be a great drive. Google any auto reviews globally and you get nothing but praise for it. completed my documentation and getting my car on saturday. watch out for another alpine white oil burner on your mirror. Only thing is have not decided which diesel to pump as I read the threads, none is too conclusive but generally, it seems we cant go wrong with 1. BHP 2. Caltex 3. Petronas (in that order?)
