Told by mechanic that too much free play on my gear and nothing much we can do. There is 'dum" sound at the low gear shifting. bmw7833, i dunno about e39...in your case change the ATF oil, might be will help. I dunno. Better check with mechanic or else waiting reply from E39 guru. Cheers</blockquote>
