When the CBU F10 was introduced here in 2010, BMW MSIA launched the 523i & 535i. It sold them for RM398k and RM598k respectively. See http://paultan.org/2010/05/07/bmw-unveils-all-new-f10-5-series-2-variants-from-rm398k/ When the 7series was launched here in 2016, the 730Li sold for RM598k and the 740Li for RM788k. See http://paultan.org/2010/05/07/bmw-unveils-all-new-f10-5-series-2-variants-from-rm398k/ I expect BMW MSIA to bring in both the 530i and 540i. They will have to price the 530i under RM400k as it replaces the 520i as the entry level model. The higher they price it, the less sales they will get. Pricing the 540i at RM200k more than the 530i would be absurd as the price difference bw the 2 models overseas isnt that much. But we get screwed all the way in MSIA. Both by the government by way of taxes and extremely high margins. I know BMWs only sell 10000 cars in MSIA but really their pricing is awful. That's the price we pay for our passion and why I've been buying second hand all this while.
