You know i have been following this thread. I kinda agree with Fuhrer not to state the obvious. Anything over 3L will incur high road tax, maintenance and not to mention fuel consumption. As MTek1318 puts it the people who drive the lower cc cars will grieve on high road tax, maintenance and high fuel consumption. Agreed not everybody have the same requirement. That said here is my 2 cents to this whole matter. Once you have drive a high cc car you will understand what I mean besides power and satisfaction. Drive it long term and you will understand what I mean. Subsequently all costs associated with fuel consumption, road tax and maintenance will be worth your while. Finally if road tax, fuel consumption and maintenance is your concern then BMW is NOT the car for you. Then best look at Japanese alternative. Maintenance and Fuel Consumption is not BMW strongest point and not for faint hearted. Road tax is beyond anybodys control. Bimmer is for spirited sporty driving which means wear and tear means maintenance which and higher fuel consumption. This applies to all BMWs be it 4 cyc, 6 cyc or even 8 cyc. Disagree? MYVI looks attractive.
