Hi people.... Just to share with you guys..... http://www.cbt.com.my/news/cat-localnews/1-local-news/1249--bikers-galaxy.html The above news confirms that you don't really need to collect any kind of annual fees (or subscription fees) to get there... SBM is actually an internet based forum similar to this one here and no fees are collected at all. The forum is still free and is open to all to join. It was set up in March 2006. So who says, you need lots of money to get a 'physical' clubhouse started. We could have probably started with a small car wash centre (probably with car detaling facilities too) where its venue can be be BMW Club Malaysia's official clubhouse for a start.... You all say EXCLUSIVITY!! What crap! Anybody with a couple of thousand ringgit can buy a current BMW either new, used or recond... but if it was a Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari or even a classic/vintage BMW maybe la in my book... What say you?

bro, you just dont get it. It not how much you spend in getting a bmw. It the trill and experience of driving one. club house in somebody workshop or trading house could be a idea but that means we have to sanction them. Just imagine what people would say if you only meet up in one place where the business is contradict to the partiality of the club.

So so want to volunteer their shop or house for us to use for FREE.

Maybe, Yes ..... but ....... I wonder where do they got the money to run the club activity or even club website ?

Who is the KIND webmaster, doing all this for FREE .

Ooooo ...... the webmaster open his own business and hide under 'clubhouse' . Advertisement fee also webmaster ......... ????
I think Ah Seng workshop, Sportmotor Dept, AC Accessories ever wiling to allow thier place to become Clubhouse.

It is still a BMW ........ the name itself show the exclusivity. (unless you say it is not)
I have a friend whose car is around than 20years age, (some of the members even bought the same model for RM800, yes, eight hundred ringgit), during one of the BMW Malaysia events, his car was requested to be parked at the podium and even the President of BMW Malaysia also stop to see his car.
Why .... because it is a BMW. (this car not even a classic car.)

To answer 'the crap' you mentioned, if we start at the car wash, not only BMW Malaysia will warn or don't even want to talk to us, but I am very sure BMW Club Council will expelled us from thier affiliation.

What say you?
We should plan to have our own 'independent' Clubhouse.
car wash, workshop, trading house(personal interest place) ...... double crap!.

BMWCM does not need a physical "clubhouse". This is a car enthusiast club.

As long as the heart is passionate about BMW, it is secondary if there is a clubhouse or not. I would rather not have one. Then, we can meet up anywhere and go everywhere.

Today, it's about mobility.

My 2 sens worth.....

:stupid: From your implied post above, may I humbly suggest you have your own 'club'... nuff said!

rifhamdi I'm not sure why you are here. If you really understand & appreciate the refinement of motor engineering that BMW offers, then you are in the right place. Only shallow minded people think "all" BMW owners are posers.

There are only 3 type of owners:
1) used as business tool
2) enthusiast
3) poser shiok sendiri

anyone would like to add anymore category?

why do we always have this kind of crap people in our forum who have nothing better to do but to talk crap...and more crap. datang tt pun tak...contribution to the club pun tarak. suddenly promoting some crap company in this forum...why lah? semalam tak dapat is it? go buy a bar of soap lah...make sure its got antiseptic properties...for fungi infection or crabs.

i am trying so very hard to be a 'nice' person but some people just don't understand...i give up!

rifhamdi - are you even reading what you posted ? What a wanker you are. Looks to me you're nothing but a free loading scum-bag that would love to be in the presence of other freeloading scum-bags that you may be trying to convert. You expect events and all to magically fall into place is it ? You expect all the freebies and perks official members get to fall from the sky is it you numbnut ? Instead of participating what everyone here is trying so hard to build, you go post something that like a disgruntled 5 year old girl. The club doesn't need you also lah !!!! Go enjoy your freebie club where you and your members can sit around all day and enjoy just love and sunshine.

hhhhmmmm....

"physical" clubhouse. It would be great if we had one like Royal Selangor Club (Dataran Merdeka) where people can go and socialize, hold events/functions etc...

a shop selling items as a clubhouse??? hhhmmm..... then it would have to sell all the OEM parts, AC's, Haman's, BBS's, Brembo's, et. etc. etc...... may not be that feasible.... can't tie up to one particular brand only..... (e.g. not everyone uses castrol)...

i believe nothing is free.... there must be a catch somewhere, somehow.... even a car wash would ask you to pay for the drinks (unless u wash ur car) or ask the club to subsidize their electricity (if not, lepak in the dark!) Now have to decide which one to tie up with..... Meguair's or Autodetailers.....

when u want to have "official"/"exclusive"..... some say why so official..... others say not exclusive enough.... so how???

okaylah, how about some hardware shop as a club house.... or a piano shop.... or some fish shop.....

SPA! SPA is a good 'physical' club house, while enjoying the steam, can enjoy spicy food like Sichuan chicken, sure can untung wan!

Hahahahahahahahahaha oiiiiiiiii...... :top:

hmmm astro i think you're missing a few more in your list =D

haha bro nothing is free. there are always charges somewhere.

My initial post was just to 'revise' some points/suggestions/reasons brought forward by some of you on why the drive to impose annual fees was necessary by the committe of this forum sometime back, that was all...

Most of you (mostly the committee members then) argued THEN, that fee collection was necessary/justified to make the club more....

i)exclusive (as most of you defended)

ii)and first steps towards obtaining 'physical' clubhouse in the future

the above are just two of the many reasons which was presented back then...

so why flame me now when i was just putting points forward which was stated by most of you that time?....

I was merely pointing out that obtaining a 'physical' clubhouse is possible without imposing any annual fees just like what SBM had done unlike the all sorts of reasons which was stated by the previous committee... so its open to anyone who has a passion for motorcycles (which I feel is the correct approach to an open forum) in other words, all walks of life...

I have a passion for anything with wheels which is badged with the roundel but actually imposing an initial fee of RM300 and an annual fee of RM150 holds me back from joining officially if one were to put it. Not that i am a freeloader. I too know that money is also required just to maintain a website but for RM150 a year eventhough with freebies, a membership card and your callsign highlighted in bold stating your official status???

That is the main reason why i have kept my distance from any TT or Grand TT after my first outing ( Grand TT) with you guys at MMZ, Shah Alam in 2007.

Likewise, based on the replies of this thread, I have not posted in awhile knowing that the people here are not open to critisism esp if its presented in a straight forward manner.

So YES, for the time being I am taking some of your advise as per this thread....

The fee holding you back?? U r not freeloader??? Actually with the RM300 members received more value worth than RM300. It easier to comment than to run a club.
Then u compare wt SBM. Of course la they can sponsor as the clubhouse as it help their business. Dun worry I will ask Bro XXX to open SPA & sponsor as clubhouse so that members can have free massage:love:

wei aku duduk diam diam, buta buta aku punya nama pun terseret dalam kontroversi ini...apa lagi jadi Mat Massage pulak..:stupid::thefinger::thefinger:

Instead of puting downs my ideas or criticisms, don't you think the committee (past, present and future) could at least give it some thought and digest what I have to say...

If a motorcycle forum like SBM can achieve it I don't see why an 'exclusive' tag car forum like this one cannot...

So what if the premise (ei:clubhouse) does some kind of business (if possilble related to the nature of the forum) to generate revenue for the coffers?? That kind of committee definitely has my vote, rather than having its members shoulder the necessary (compulsory) revenue (fees) in order for the club to maintain its 'clubhouse' or its website...

Isn't imposing any sort of fee esp if its RM150 a year (not refering to minimal fee to keep the website up and running) some sort of 'segregation' no??

...Mr.Rifhamdi, werent you allowed to post? did you pay any fees in order for you to post? So isnt this forum open to all walks of life, which is what you said it should be...so wtf you talking abt? Its only those who want to be official member of the club that needs to pay and nobody put a knife at their throat to ask them to pay they paid bcos they see the value of it with or without a clubhouse...the clubhouse is a dream of every club if it can afford it...and a club house should be named after the club itself and is an asset of the club...not eg: Ah Keong MotorWorks aka Ferrari Clubhouse.
