all sifu's
can i knw any spare parts shops that sell brake dics n pads?
is Css Autoparts one of them?btw wer it located.,..

Gotr mine from m1 in Kayu ara, better than stock any day, but not as fade ressistant as ebc greens. The greens are good but need one prod to get them going. I hear the newer ones are better though.

afaik, ferodo DS2500 arent easily available in MY. DS2000 and Ferodo Performance, yes, but not DS2500 or DS3000 (track only).

if any of u know a local supplier for DS2500, pls post the contact here as im currently having to import my pads from overseas. there is one shop selling DS2500 here but he carries for italian cars only.

the closest ferodo distributor is in SG but u have to indent as demand for DS2500 is low due to high price. DS2500 shd run u around RM600 and up per set. if ur not paying this amt ur prolly not using DS2500.

and i can assure u DS2500 is light years ahead of EBC green.

I get all my pads from USA. Much cheaper. Redd if you want i cant get some for you.

Would you mind to PM me the Singapore Ferodo distributor?

In desperate search for better brakes!

Thanks

Just talk to CSS auto parts...

They dun have Ferodo DS2500....

they only have Ferodo DS1256.... Good for daily driving. Not for my driving style. Ask Nik....my rims looks cleaner after the HPC event. His....full of brake dust.

But I personally likes the ATE....

alvin, thanks man! im currently stocking my own DS2500 so im good for the next 2 yrs. i get mine from HK when my friend goes there. RM600 a pop. but ill keep u in mind if my pipeline dries up. :)

e28driver, i tossed the SG ferodo contact cos he didnt seem very interested in bringing in the DS2500. ill try to find it for u.

the necc, some of the UK alfas managed to separate the ebc red pad compound from the backing plate during a club trackday. result - lots of squealing and one badly scored disc. not something id recommend u try.

seriously, look at the ferodo or mintex racing pads for ur GT3. DS3000 i hear is a very good track pad. i was running mintex F4R during the last trackday and those are great too. be prepared to pay upwards of RM900 per set. the DS3000 are a little bit cheaper than the F4R, but the mintex shd be easier to find.

I found a US supplier that can supply the DS2500 for both the front and rear.

Do you think the rears are worth having?

US$110 for the fronts b4 shipping.

Cheers,
alex

USD110 for the fronts is cheap. i wonder how much it will cost after shipping & tax.

dunno bout ur RWD cars but on our FWD the front does most of the work so we dont get DS2500 for the rears.

FWD or RWD is the same. 70 or 80% of braking is at the front.

The Necc

I would suggest that u use APagid orange for your GT3. Its really one of the best around & they are very good for both normal & track driving. What pads you are using now? If not mistaken previous owner is a fan of Pagid also.

I personally prefer softer brake pads and the downside is plenty of brake dust which is fine with me as long the braking force is sufficient.

EBC arent as great as they are claimed to be, my 2 cents.

bro,u can also check wiz Sparco shop in batu cave...i think they hv stock...

I had EBC Greens on a previous hatchback car and they were CRAP. No bite whatsoever.

I will likely go with the DS2500 fronts as well as treating the callipers to a full repair kit jobbie. Along with the ATE PDs which I have on order, hopefully that will be sufficient to do the trick of improving things. Otherwise will have to start replacing/upgrading the brake servo.

Redd - How long did the DS2500 pads last you? If they wear quick, perhaps I should buy an extra pair for spare.

a caliper rebuild will not help braking power much unless they are seriously jammed to begin with.

the DS2500 last me on average 9 mths which usually includes 2-3 trackdays, ulu yam runs, high speed driving etc. pretty decent. i went thru mintex 1144 compound in 6 mths. the DS2500 are very mild on discs tho so u can go ahead and splurge on those fancy rotors if u wanna.

but seeing that they're hard to get, id recommend u keep 1-2 sets of DS2500 as spare. afterall ur getting them at a decent price. i stock my own DS2500 pads, too.
