This F30 is a real disappointment. When I first received it in Jul 2012, windscreen got scratches due to manufacturing defects. After half a year, problems highlighted in the forum appear 1-by-1:1) Rusty seat frame. 2) One-touch function for driver side window not working.3) Knocking sound from steeringI thought of fixing the above when i send for first service. Then, the message "Drivetrain. Continue the journey at moderate speed. Full performance not available. Have the problem checked by service" appeared two days ago. Today, the message upgrade to "Drivetrain, High temperature...."Call AB Glenmarie, booking is 1 week later. Want to act fast, call AB KL, no one answered the phone!Search internet, found the problem. Bloody hell, buying a BMW, get a proton service + proton quality. :top:

Since your car is under warranty, you can also send to Wearnes Autohaus.

I called Ingress Auto, the receptionist told me I only can send my car to them for service. For warranty claim, I have to go back to AB. Not sure if this policy applies to other. The temperature was above 120C for a while and I think the gasket most likely are damaged.

Bro ongss, I think AB should attend to your case immediately and not wait for one week as this is an emergency. Request to speak to the workshop manager if you have to. I hope you get things sorted out soon. Feel sorry for you.

BMW Malaysia address:
Enterprise 1, 3440, Jalan Teknokrat 3, 63000, Cyberjaya, Selangor
63000, Malaysia

Find them if you have to.

Hi, brothers, thanks for the advice.

I called BMW Mobile at 1800 88 3000. The Technical Adviser promised to call AB and fix an early date for me. According to this Technical Adviser, the Drivetrain problem was caused by transmission and the oil in the gearbox caused the high temperature. Shall until Monday and see what happens. Fingers crossed. AB KL called back in late afternoon, their phone lines had problems this morning.

This is untrue. I have sent my AB purchased car to Ingress before to fix some stuff under warranty. If you go to AB Glenmarie it's like GH, a lot of patients. Not sure how soon they can slot you in and unsure if can get courtesy car ...

I called BMW Mobile and asked the Technical Adviser to verify the statement from Ingress Auto. I was told the same answer. As such, the Technical Adviser will negotiate the early service slot with AB KL or AB Sungai Besi.

Ongss have you got your problem rectify by AB already? The drivetrain problem also appeared with my car a few days ago and it turn out one of the vacuum valve near the firewall is faulty. AB is changing the part.

During one of my test drive sessions on the f30 320i, I made a hard braking around a sharp bend and after that this drivetrain error message showed up. SA asked to shift gear to P and turn off engine and restart. Message gone. And SA said it is normal. :stupid:

Probably it's normal for that particular car that you test driven. I certainly don't have this problem with my car.

Normal? I sent my car to ABKL and I was told software update is needed. After that, it was normal for 1 week.

Today, fixed driver side window in ABKL. On my way back, in the middle of heavy traffic, same problem happened and the engine was overheated. Suddenly, everything was shut down by itself and my car was in the middle of the road. Of course, bus, motorbike, cars... everyone passed by, horned as loud as they wanted and cursed... all thanks to BMW. 5 minutes later, engine cooled down a bit and manage to drive to some where less traffic. The car was then towed to AB Glenmarie.

My wife was talking about buying a CKD X3 this morning. After the latest incident, we decided to skip. Enough from BMW already.

AB KL did not solve the problem. I hope AB Glenmarie will solve the problem. Thanks for sharing the info. Which AB branch you sent your car to ?

Sounds like a water pump problem.

Surf the net and saw some overseas postings about the water pump. I noted the problem only happens whenever I am in a heavy jam. Also, the air-con not functioning, only air was circulated. So, you could be right.

Not to say normal, but the way i pushed the limit of the car..but a simple restart of the engine reset that.
