I heard lot of ECU remapping for the BMW using OBDII onward ......The method normally is u send ur car to the tuner and they will read ur car data and EWS thing and flash in another setting to ur car ........But recently i experience with the on car ECU remapping done by my fren.......According to him , on car remapping result is more impressive and significant as the new setting is according to ur car engine condition and mods tat hv been done like exhaust, filter , cam etc .....So normal remapping just a better mapping then a factory setting and on car remapping is specific for tat car only .........So just share my experience here cos i sent my fren E36 328 for the remapping ........The 1st thing to do is to install all the hardware to the car to read the car current air fuel ratio and others timing setting ......

The tool - Air - fuel reader .......

The sensor install to the exhaust .....

The air fuel reader stick on the windscreen for better viewing ....

Another view of the air fuel reader ......

Main tool for the remapping .....

Connect the plug to the PC .....

Tracking the factory mapping ......

After all hardware were installed, we run the car to see existing air fuel ratio .........Found out the car is running lean at the low end and running rich at the mid end and top end a bit lean as well .....

Car respond is not impressive due to d above mapping .......

So after finished reading the factory mapping , we stop at the road side to to the 1st round mapping .....................

So we go for test drive after 1st round remapping , found out the mapping still not perfect .....

So need to remapping for 2nd round ........

So we stop at the road side for 2nd round mapping .....

After finished 2nd round mapping .........

We go for test drive again .....

This round the mapping is just perfect ........

Car feel very powerful and very smooth with a very good respond .......

Gear change perform much better compared before mapping .....

The car hit 220km/h easily ( still can go further ).........

Test drive the car on the way back to return the car to Brian .....

Really feel lot of different after remapping .......

Now we waiting the owner to give his testimonial here ( If he register himself here ).......

Excellent write up bro :top: How much does your friend charge for a live remapped?

and thanks for sharing :D

superb testimony here ...

SG long silk highway seems to be a favourite stretch for test power these day ...seen lotsa moded cars running on these stretch lately

now i found out the new Kajang-seremban highway is much much better for test power ...........road is so big and straight .............hahahhahahahha.............

hmmm....remapping of BMW siemens ecu is not as easy as just playing around with the settings and increasing in 10% increments. bmw has many maps, which is why it takes someone who knows what he's doing to offer live remapping. even in the US, tuning a Siemens ecu on a dyno is easily USD1k upwards. :) and there's only a few ppl who can do it well there.

i've seen some live tuning being down in KL for Siemens based cars, and unfortunately things didn't go the way it was supposed to go. in the end had to resort to other options.

but i hope we have someone in M'sia who can finally do it right, as i believe only BVO is the closest option for live tuning available. this is good news for kaki modders :)

feisal....apa tunggu lagi, mr 535i said u're car is slow as a kura2 with no food. time to show him why they call u KingE39

Ramsing, you are absolutely right. A lot of tuning is done using interpolation or just blocking a set of figures and increase everything by a certain percentage, otherwise it is not possible for an ECU to be tune in a day as I have said in the other thread. Stock standard ECUs have on average more than 60 maps stored in it.

From the equipment, the tuner looks like Panjang aka "kou lou"??

I'll give u guys a 5 minutes head start ..
Pls choose which one that u want ; S38B38 or 540 ..

I did 'something' to the S38 but not before i put it on the dyno machine
After that 'something', the car feels faster, better acceleration etc etc.
I did another dyno after that - the power increase is very marginal .. circa 5% only.
And that is after spending couple of $$$ grand in it ..

I believe that SC should be a better approach - if you need instant power.
That's were the E90 is heading now .. BVO !!

yes ....not easy to do the mapping especially u need to take care the EWS also .......

my fren involve in motorsport and tuning for 20 yrs .....

he did the good job for my fren's car and the charges is very reasonable compared with normal remapping in the market ......

Great posting....!!!!!
Perfect timing for me, Im suppose to do the re-map nxt week. After seeing this, better to go w this option, rather than still stuck with the considerarion on which chip is better to go with, which specialist to go for and blah blah bla!!!!
U save my day!!! Well done! Appreciate PM the contact details & indicative pricing. Cheers!!!
