To have a car breakdown due to bad/overused oil is rare as it must have been so bad that engine would cease (i.e. equivalent to no oil).   Unless the oil pump died which caused the engine ceasure.  Was it a 320i or 325i?   Any warning indicator on the OBC before the breakdown?Also 2K is relatively "cheap" to repair such engine problems.  Normal oil service is already hitting 1k for 325i.</blockquote>
