Hi all,I'm going to get a 2nd hand E90 & contemplating between the 330i & 325i M Sport. According to the current market value (year 05-08), the 330i is cheaper than the 325i M Sport. 1. Road tax factor aside, which one will you opt to? I'm planning to move on to E92 in next 2 years.2. How much difference in terms of performance between a 325i M Sport & a standard 325i?3. Will the re sell value of a 325i M Sport better than a standard 325i?4. How to know if a 2nd hand M Sport model is genuine? All advices are very much appreciated.

Boss, let me try to answer your question:

1. It really depends on yourself and it's like asking people which underwear is better :) Of course the higher cc car would give you better fun and spirited driving. Either model you will end up losing a chunk of the value in 2 years time.
2. Same. The M-Sport is just additional bodykit, better suspensions, sports seat, steering, etc.
3. I think they are more or less the same. Some people prefer standard, some M-Sport.
4. The easiest way to tell is by looking at the window trim. Chrome is standard and M-Sport are black in color. Apart from that you can look at the sports steering, seats, bodykit, absorbers, rims, etc.

I would recommend the 325i M-Sport. Preferably get a higher spec ones with iDrive, sunroof, HUD, etc. I think they go around RM160k nowadays. Or go with the twin turbo 335i, which is about RM220k.

But since you are talking about the E92 already, why not now?

bro, go for the 330i if roadtax is not an issue for you..no replacement for displacement

the extra power n torque will make you smile all the way :)

you can slowly upgrade the rest (interior, exterior, suspension, etc.) with aftermarket parts or Msport parts in the future

p/s: would be good to intro yourself in the newbies section so that we can know each other better..all the best bro in looking for your ride :top:

I drives a 325i M-Sports... Of course the M-Sport suspension setup is good and inline 6 engine is sweet sounding. The same can be said about the body kit and etc.

But I always find my car a tad bit too heavy and the 2.5k cc engine unable to deliver the instantaneous joy when you accelerate. But once your speed/rpm reach the mid range onwards, the story different.

I have tried a E60 530i before and let me tell you, eventhough the car is bigger and the engine 500cc more than mine.. the low-end to mid-end performance is just wonderful. Like bro Silverbullet said, there's no replacement for more displacement. I almost wished I opted for the 330i but I believe it is only available in the grey market. Thus, I abandon the option.

If given me such option is available for SKD, and in M-Sport trim, I'll choose it anytime of the day. But then.. this is provided i'm still sticking with the NA route.

If I chose the turbo route... I'll choose the new F30 328i

Given the choice,definitely the 330i... and it'll be a keeper.The last of the sweet6s.

If u're planning to sell in 2years,then just get something cheap and save up.Doesn't make sense to knowingly plan to buy and sell an expensive car within two years.

My E90 325 is for sale not msport but mod better than msport. Suspension only is full adjustable high low & sof hard. Brand is JIC cross competition Made in USA. Brand normally use in Porsche.

I wanna ask something. Does a stock E90 330 handle better than a stock 325 M Sport? How about an E92 325 against the E90 325 M Sport?

Did you test drive the F30 328i ? If yes, how does it compare to the E60 530i in term of power/torque performance ?

I tested F30 328 and I own 530. 530 my choice anytime. I still feel no replacement for displacement. Actually u cant compare 3 to 5 series. Anyway F30 has lost BMW feel to me. I rather drive E46 ///M3

Are you missing the engine noise?

Actually for me BMW has lost the engine noise in E90 & E60. Now they lost the steering & handling feel in F30.
Everybody has own preference and capacity. Its just myself.

I wish I can own this car.

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice & I appreciate it greatly. As a few of the forum members mentioned that the M sport suspension is rather stiffer & noisierduring cruising (worse still pairing it with big rim & RFT). That is something to think about opting for full M-sport package.

That explained why you are offering your E90 325... But considering E90 handling is not bad, 50:50 ratio.

If you check the plastics carefully , you will see it is not very well make....You see many many gap at the joins...

Personally welcome the electric steering as one of the saving energy. They can be turned to heavier I think. Try it at higher speed shall be heavier..... Hi, BMW we like heavier, you can save more energy. We can use rice power.

Yes, we can't really compare 3 & 5 series. I am currently the E90 owner and has tested the F30 328i and I do agree that the handling & steering feel is not as good as the E90. But, the power/torque is a lot better, especially on the low RPM. Putting handling & steering feel aside, just wanna to find out how is I6 N52 3.0l engine compare to th I4 N20.

Ya, I miss my M54B. The sound is so nice.
My E90 325i is no longer that sweet in terms of engine sound like before....

Absolutely right, plus the non M-Sport handles pretty well already. I've driven both and I'd go for the 330i without question. The extra 50+hp and 50NM is something I can use immediately.
