Hi fellow sifus,Can you advice me on the break in period on a new bimmer? Is it advisable to follow the break in recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Welcome erin8817,

You own a pre-register 323i right? ^_^

Just go and study your owner's manual,

If I am not mistaken, BMW recomended for 2000 km break in period and during this period the car speed shouldn't exceed 150 km/h.

Surprisingly is BMW don't belive in standstill warm up, they suggest that after starting the engine drive off straight away with low speed and the machine will reach the working temparature later.

Enjoy your ride, Cheers.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to check if anyone does service after the break-in period?

If so, what's the average damage $$ and service interval?
Any recommended workshop or should I go back to AB, Quill and Ingress?

Are you on BSRI? If you are then you don't have to pay for the services but you need to check with them if your car is qualified to be serviced.

Earlier service needs to be paid. Did mine at 5k kms and was about RM600. Its good to do preventive maintenance in between what is recommended. At every 10k max. That bill will not be borne under BSRI.

Can you share which workshop did you do your service?
I bought mine at AB glenmarie and i heard that their service is very poor. Any recommendations is kindly appreciated.

Erin ... I bought mine from AB Glenmarie but I go to Ingress ... Ingress is near my place and they do things properly. AB Glenmarie SUCKZ BIG TIME! If you are going to Ingress or any other SC for the first time, please bring a copy of your car registration ... they need to register you with their system.

The one at Kampung Penchala there ...

Bro tianci,
1) do you need make phone service appointment first with Ingress?
2) how long did you have to wait at Ingress for your 1st service?

Erin ... yes you need to make appointment. Then bring along a copy of your registration card for them to register you in their system. I done 2 services there and usually takes a mere 3 hours for a normal oil change. If you cannot tahan to wait then call me and we go makan la.)
