I have tested a 325 M sport before, but that was after couple of months owing my E46 325i. I think I wasn’t able to feel too much of difference that time. I bought my car from AB’s PS with one year warranty at super low mileage 35k km only, never the less, superb condition, inside out. I grabbed the car 4hrs after it was handover to AB from the owner on a Friday 6pm. I have to thank the previous owner who really took good care of the car. In this one year, I fixed the car engine oil leak, cooling coil, side view mirror motor, ignition coil, rear differential oil leak, fan belt & pulley, all under warranty. I changed the power steering hose assy, expansion tank, 4pcs of B4 absorbers with my own money. Regardless of such a good condition car approved by BMW, problems will surface in the first 12mths of ownership, especially on an older car, regardless of mileage. I am glad I got covered by the warranty. I try to extend that with the best I could, servicing my car every 4mths, regardless of mileage(normally around 7-8k km). Sent it for Teflon coating, washing car myself every week. I just love this car! :rock:Still, being a busy body, trying to find out how different is this care with E90.Now after 1.5yrs+ driving it every day, here & there, point A to C then only to B, detour, or purposely go out for a drive to KLIA but not picking up anyone, I think I know the character of the car better.I had chance to drive my friends E90 320i for a couple of days sometime back, I also went for another test drive on 325 M sport & 323i last weekend. Below are my findings of their behavior in corners, roundabout, interchange. (Gadgets is secondary to me, so I don’t bother to find out yet) Not sure if you guys are feeling the same? Or anything to share? E46 325i : Nose dive is there due to soft suspension for comfort, I must either go in with a good line & timing. Or else the the body will “lean”(it will hold though, but just don’t feel nice loh) but I could use the gas pedal & give a slight push from the tail to offset the nose dive a bit depending on the speed I am going. I can feel the tail working very very easily on this car. It could be slower, but the fun factor is there.E90 325i M sport : Rock steady suspension! Just sweet in corner, so solid! No extra or unnecessary movement at all! Just like a very well trained athlete. (My car sounds like a sportsman with a bit of tummy) I gotta become a Kamikaze pilot to make it go wrong. So solid & steady, until after some driving, I found there’s no nose dive(may be I am not fast enough), body lean, I can’t play with the gas pedal to offset it. I know the limit of the car is high, I didn’t look at the meter, but it’s fast, real fast in the corners. Doing all those gimmicks in the corner actually mean the limit of my car is lower, I know, but the process seems less fun because it’s so solid & rock steady even my timing is late or line is not that good. hehehe…Under normal speed, I would say the suspension is not stiff to my standard, acceptable. Only after 140km/hr, those who sit in the back will have a hard time. This in line 6 is more quiet then my M54. Somewhat I like the M54 roar has it’s character…I have to step a bit harder for it to response. My E46, even a light tap on pedal, it response according to my input. Not going to touch on the engine performance, everyone knows about it.Guess just have to get use & embrace it.E90 323i : Very good suspension regardless of a stock suspension. So much more better than an E46 stock. I test drove this right after the 325i M sport, same route. I would say it has about 85% of what M sport is offering(to my standard lah). Very minimum nose dive or body leaning, can feel the tail a little bit. Not bad at all in terms of handling.Though same engine, but it’s quite different. Torque & horses are less even compare with E46 325i but with a closer gear ratio I guess they are almost the same. However, the engine note is a bit different. A bit lack of umph leh. It doesn’t give me a very good music…Still, it’s good enough for a lot of ppl. Not bad at all.I am waiting for the sales to inform when 320d is coming in so that I can test drive to see how different is it. Getting itchy… Let’s see what choice do I have. hehehe…:wink:The short listing & selecting process is always fun.
