E90 320i 06 Rear Axle Oil

Hi guys,
how often do we change our axle oil? I was told that its better to use LSD axle oil instead of original BMW ones,
I need to know what brand is recommended? how is the process of changing the oil?
my foreman told me that better not open the axle & drain the oil unless leaking, just siphon out the old oil & pump in the new ones.

diff oil don't actually have a maintenance schedule.
i would go with every 100k kms
use original BMW oil and not LSD.use the corret oil for the correct application
any branded oil will be ok.
oil change is straight fwd but remove the fill plug first...in case the drain plug get jammed stuck..

and yes don't open the axle.you may cause further leaks if it is not done right.

mine is reaching the 150k km mark, I was told that the original BMW oil has some type of powder form that will cause
a minor noise, that's y was recommended to use LSD axle oil.
but just wondering how many litres is required? just to siphon out the old oil & fill up?

I've done the axle oil change on 100K mark & the old oil was still looks good when they drains out...they use 1 bottle of oil 1 liter I guess....correct me if I'm wrong coz muda2 sudah nyanyuk :sleep:

I have used Ravenol Sport Limited Slip (SLS) previously for the axle oil replacement on my ex-335i...total would be 2 Litres...car felt much smoother after the change

the workmanship wont costs much as all they need to do is just drain out the old oil & pump in the new oil,
was told not to remove the axle as may cause leaking or issues in the future.
just need to use fully syn or LSD axle oil...choose reputable brands.

Kolamp, where did you do the change and how much was the cost?

Done at Supreme Autoworks Bangi....forgot how much but its cheap I believe coz its an easy job

I bought it at the workshop bro...price one bottle (1L) is around rm60-80 per bottle (sry cant remember exactly)...was done at K&S Auto USJ, contactable at 03-80118013 to book your appointment
