Just got my ride recently. I have trouble parking without my reverse sensor. Or it's just me who is have a lousy parking skill ? Any recommendation on best place to install a e60 reverse sensor ? Thanks !p.s i wonder why japanese no need reverse sensor for the parking purpose.

Never trust a parking sensor, the safest still the old school way...hehe

that's not true... I have no problem squeezing my E60 into tight spots with the reverse camera...
oopppsssss.... u r talking about sensor. Retrofit original PDC will cost you a bomb... consider reverse camera instead... definitely cheaper by at least half the price of PDC (Parking Distance Control) :top:

Reverse camera of cors good lar....but i still do not trust too much on the sensors no matter its a proton sensor, bmw sensor, merc sensor. I once rely too much on the sensor that i actually reverse into my own car behind...

RM7k really cost bomb. I rather use the 7k to retrofit the Idrive. But without my back sensor, i scratch my back bumper on the first day i took my car... sigh.

If you cannot even park the car properly, you should not have a driving license. period..

manyak orang come here 'sai meng' instead of helping our fren to solve his issue eventhough the prob is small in their eyes...

all i can say is *ouch*.

:)

maybe you can install a reverse cam and hook it up to your idrive screen?

will definitely cost you less than RM5k!

that's what I said... just afraid of being complained of "out of topic"... :D
anyway, reverse camera will do a great job for you...

PDC is much better than the reverse camera, the eye judgement tend to make mistake. I trust more on my PDC ...never fail and never scratch

but spend reverse camera for 5k, will it worth it ? 5k i tot of spend it with my 'original' springs into something better. Sigh..

btw, the japanese really no need to use back sensor punye meh ?

I agree with r37720... PDC is indeed a cool gadget for BMW... but it'll cost RM6-7k!
It's actually up to your ultimate decision... from what you wrote here implied that you have certain budget to be spent only. So better spend the money on reverse camera instead. I had installed an Eclipse brand on my E60... reversing my car into carpark had been a breeze ever since :D it cost me about RM1250 for a job nicely done :top:
As for converting original springs into something better... I assume that you want a sportier ride with a balance between comfort and sport??? Try KW Variant 2 :D if not mistaken, about RM8k!!!!! :D

I know the camera alone cost RM1250... but I'm not sure whether it needs any interface or not... coz last time I did the job together with my DVD player and Garmin gvn53...

3rd party sensors should be around RM400 for 4 sensors. But not sure for the 5 series. That was what I paid for my 325. My 530 Jap-spec is one of those rare few that comes with PDC already.

But warning, 3rd party sensors are not as good as originals obviously, but still they will give you good guidance as to proximity of objects around your behind.

Rear camera is still best. Once you do that, you can then have option to fit other stuff like DVD changer, GPS, etc...
