E60 problem lately....until.....

dear all sifuall the while...i never thought of wanted to have my E60 for ECU-remap until recently. i was advice for the re-program coz this two weeks, i have some prob wit the car. 1st. The car sound keep beeping non stop even with the engine off and key pull out. (the sound that keep disturbing you if you did not tie up your safety belt.)2nd. When i engage gear "R" with handbrake free, the car did not move at all untill i accelerate about 15km/h then onli it start move backward (very abnormal as its normally will move itself when i engage on "R" without accelarating)3rd. Fuel seem to be another factor. i never race my on my car when im on wheel. all the while, my petrol consumption was like 550km-580km per full tank filling up. but tis time...its onli last for about 450km. i was on shell, v-power. base on tis, my mechanic told me tat it might due to the program tat had corrupted and causes all tis shitty trouble and advice me for re-progNow, based on this 3 prob, i was advice for re-prog though im still hesitating over this. my mechanic ensured me that nothing will happen after the re-prog as he only used the orignal software from BMW. after the re-prog, he told me things will be faster and also the car will be more power in terms on driving.the fees for this will be costing me at RM350 (4-5hours re-prog). any advice? please share ur comment/feedback here. thx

I don't get you here : accelerate = move ???

you see...when u engage on "R" gear(with hand brake free position), the car will move itself without u pedal the fuel. but mine cant move when on R untill i have to pedal a bit. get my mean? sigh....reali troublesome

Go to Sapura or Ingress for software diagnostic and software update.... it will be more expensive but it will afford you a peace of mind knowing that you're getting the latest update from BMW. it's about rm450-rm 600 i guess. mine cost rm450 (E46) for engine and transmission software update. Hope that helps bro.

I think it more like RPM.. meaning he have to step on the gas pedal and rpm reach 1500 rpm before the
car start to move backward.. correct me if I am wrong.

just went to the VW showroom at The Curve.saw the Passat ABT..wow!!!! i can't seem to get it out of my mind.full ABT bodykit,ABT sports suspension,ABT 18" light alloys,ABT exhaust system and an ABT re-chip giving the 2.0 Passat 240bhp/330Nm.

the only one i made was buying the stupid Honda Civic which i sold off within a year of ownership..such a hopeless piece of crap.

the rest of my cars were just simply superb.most were sold off due to accidents.i've also passed the M3 stage..i'm very happy with my 525i(in fact i had a nice impromptu race with an Accord 3.0 V6 the other day and the e60 didn't disappoint..and the engine is still in standard form mind u,its not even supercharged yet).

what i need now is maybe an MCS.something that can give me a silly grin without resorting to huge horsepower,and also take me to my simulator duties in SZB or maybe JTC classes at the MAA.

the MCS or the Polo Gti would suit my requirements and budget just nice.mind u,the wife prefers me to buy the Golf GTi..don't get me wrong,its not that i don't like the Golf,its just out of my budget range la.

the bimmer is getting FI'd regardless..so i'm not too worried about power,just something small and nippy but still capable of silly speeds.i'd love the Abarth 500 but it'll be too costly and uhhh...its a Fiat,so....:thumpdown:
