As far as i know there is no specific procedure to follow, just to ensure both terminal (+ & -) not to touch each other.. After install, just let it adapt for at least 5 - 10 minutes before starting the car..

Zack 700, mine is also same size the brand starting from E cannot remember now i am a bit relieved i though the battery will be full size end to end my previous E39 batt was big.

Stock will cost u RM1400 but it will last for nearly 5 years (that's what they claimed).. But others the cost varies from RM300-600.. Lifetime mostly depends on the 'healthiness' of your alternator..

From what I've been told, if you're changing to the same battery spec as the original, it is advisable to program the new battery in, basically clear the existing battery charging profile so the alternator would not overcharge the new battery, which may reduce its lifetime. If you're changing to different battery spec, then you need to code the new battery i.e. tell the ecu that the new battery has different properties so the proper charging profile can be applied.

Some may argue that programming/coding the battery is not needed but I believe it does help in ensuring the battery is optimally charged. I'm still on my original battery as it left the factory, and that was 10 years ago.

My battery size DIN 100:

CENTURY bought for rm550

The general rule is all battery change requires to be registered so that the complex Energy Management System can work at it's optimum best.
But if you were to change to a different type of battery ie AGM - absorbed glass material to FLA - flooded lead acid or vice versa then you have to do a coding as well..

after changing the battery like other car, where can we do the battery registration or coding if necessary? or can DIY/

can do at optimum kayu ara....or diy if you have BMWhat apps....

Big price difference between century and bosch. May I know what is the comparison of these two batteries?
Any century user please share experience.

Yes, you can replaced the battery yourself. Then go to any BMW specialist workshop to register the new battery into the ECU.

Thanks herbert. Really appreciated.

There is really no need to register the battery. As I understand after being told by BMW technician, the registration only puts in a date into the ECU nothing else. Assuming you replace the old battery with a new one of the same rating (DIN100) everything will be ok.

Guys i after changing new battery nothing happen. Something else problem. Rectified..not battery problem. Might be starter???

Do you get all lights on the dash when you turn the key? What about lights? When turned on bright? Is battery fully charged?

Yes all lights on. Aircond also working. I already brought the battery to battery shop to check. Everything fine.battery have no problem but engine couldn't start.

Difficult to try to guess what is the problem over an internet forum, sounds like no issue with the battery. Does your remote control work properly? Just checking that the key code is still stored in the ECU.
I think it needs to go to a garage to be fixed :-(
