Hello bro wingzee.... I have sold my car but still prowl these pages...heh heh.. Bro Zidee, Perhaps i can help shed some light: Basic cost of rebuilt is approx RM6.1k and includes the following as per what bro wingzee has stated but i have added in a few details: The 'Basic' rebuilt: 1. Gearbox overhaul kit 2. Oil pump 3. Solenoid switches - not all will be changed, only faulty/weak ones. 4. Auto filter 5. Oil cooler 6. Service valve body 7. 'Service' torque converter 8. Labour TOTAL For 'Basic' Rebuilt = RM6.1k However, when i drove the car, it was discovered that my torque converter is not in good condition and vibrates. This is a problem that the mere 'servicing' above cannot cure. Hence....I changed to a rebuilt torque converter. they basically splice open the torque converter into half and re-glue the 'skin/lining' inside before welding it back. It will still not be perfect but is good enough (you can consider this, as a rebuilt unit from ZF costs a whole lot more). 9. Rebuilt torque converter TOTAL = RM700 (approx, cant recall exact amount) In the meantime I also changed the gear selector switch while they are at it. This part is prone to water seeping in and is a matter of time that it needs to be changed. 10. Gear selector switch - TOTAL = RM900 (approx depending on half cut or new from BA) Hence to get the perfect rebuilt gearbox you need to have Basic RM6.1k + RM700 + RM900 = RM7.7k. Right about where your shop quoted. My suspicion is they have factored in the ZF rebuilt torque converter cost into the quote (more exp than the normal rebuilt) but not the Gear Selector switch as that is considered seperate. Hope this helps?
