OK guys. Reporting back on results. Tried the gearbox reset. Had to do it twice, oddly enough. First reset didn't really do much. I turned the key to "On", floored the accelerator for 30 sec, then released and started. First sign something wasn't right : I could actually feel the engine shaking a bit after that reset - rough idling, so I warmed up the engine and drove around my condo to test it out - disappointingly, that odd jerk when the box shifts from 3rd to 2nd was still there. Came back, parked, waited for a while and tried it a second time. And guys...the difference in the car after the 2nd reset was amazing! Pick up is smoother now, the car doesn't feel as heavy as before and the jerkiness on shift down is practically gone! It's like I have a new gearbox in the car! I'm just wondering, if resetting the gearbox does this kind of miracles to the car, I reckon BMW should have made the car to default to a reset everytime it starts! LOL! ;)
