Based on comparisons between my maintenance records and some of my friends who drive Camry, Accord etc. other modern 2 litre cars, I will say they are comparable.  Since mine is a manual and I have just changed the O2 sensor, I getting also ok milage (550km on RM104 of petrol @1.92/litre).  Before this milage deteriorated to around 480+km before I had to refuel.I think the 325i is probably one of the more all rounder cars you can find... a bit of everything: power, space, looks, glamour... not too much, just a bit.  Also, mods are quite readily available these days with the newer 3 series already on the road for quite a while.Before commit, it might be a good idea to get to know some good BMW mechanic and bring the intended car there for some sort of inspection.  There may be minor flaws here and there shich should show up - quite normal for an old car, but if there are major issues... these should surface.  The forum offers lots of info and there are people here who know the location of these mechanics.  Good luck in your hunt.</blockquote>
