Comparisom based on my car...clocked 155,000km's Just came back after viewing this car (WXX 6128 - clocked, 168,000km's) for my brother... although it was on the pricy side, we decided to give it a try as it was only 1 owner and the car looked great (pics) via mms. First thing i did was open the hood as the overall car looked ok, no signs of accident whatsoever... Engine was very quiet and very clean and sounds awesome when i rev'ed it, no signs of any leaking or oil stains. It was quite obvious he came straight from a car wash, hehe.. raining! Then moved on to interior, looking good wt a nice dashboard, clear OBC wt no missing pixels and AC was cold wt a good blower. Front 2 seats and door panels were re-leather'ed... OEM kenwood HU and changer. Centre broken AC flip. Both A pillars are falling off.. Now the intresting part: test drive... Accelerator pedal was a little heavy/rough, took it for a spin.. Sadly not what i expected, the car was very sluggish and revs were weak, car is struggling at 2nd and 3rd gears.. Switch to S mode, no difference, sigh sigh, disappointment. Smooth gear changes though... steering had a lot of free play, gear lever was kinda hard too.. suspension and rims were ok, all standard. Now the tricky bit: 1 Owner? but had 3 diff names on Reg card?? he claims the car was re-financed, by this time i have lost the tiny little bit of confidence that i still had on the car as all the above were fixable. Then came another surprise when i asked more, he told me that he had changed the ECU before to solve some ABS problems:stupid:.. and it was from an E46?? Thats it, didnt even speak about the price and we left wt nothing but disappointment... Was looking forward to the 4th E36 in our family.
