Woah !!! Major bill today, but I guess it's due since the car is 9 years old. Hope this is a good indication for others to expect similiar repairs ... :D Problem : air-con gas leak at cooling coil Car : e36 318i (M43) Year : 1996 Mileage : 116,500 km Place : Naidu, Jalan Gasing 1) Air-con cooling coil (aluminium) RM390 2) Receiver / dryer RM190 3) Expansion valve RM140 4) Gas & oil top-up RM50 5) Micro-filter RM60 6) Labor RM350 Items # 2 actually has no problems, but Naidu suggested replacement since the old part may affect the overall flow of the system & ultimately the new coil. Item #3 is attached to the coil itself so might as well change together since the whole dashboard has to be taken down. My only gripe is the high labor cost. I think Naidu knows he's highly recommended by the Club, so has upped his rates a lot lately ... :(
