Iceman, I have the same one but can't get the oil temperature gauge to work. Let me know if you manage to get around it. thanks.

Not easy for the oil temp, normally even the E39 M5 meter the oil temp doesnt work.

I think the ///M engine have a separate sensor for this? Not sure.

One of the Greater attractions of the euro M cluster is higher indicated redline on the tacho, a higher max speed on the speedo, a few slightly different symbols among the dummy lights and different markings on the fuel level gauge.)

The VDO oil temp meter reading is probably what most people covet as accurate oil temp readings are what car enthusiasts pay attention to in monitoring engine health. This is of prime importance as Bimmer engines run HOT and even more so in our asian weather... what more for those who track.

The Oil temp mod is a simple but worthwhile process. To get it to work there are 2 main items to get (apart from the other minor wires and ancillaries):

* The oil temp sensor P/N : 12 61 1 404 699
* Pin connector P/N: 61 13 0 005 201 (comes with a pigtail)

Steps:

1. The oil temp sensor screws right in to the euro oil filter housing
2. Wire up Pin 13 on the X16 connector to the oil temp sender

.. and your oil temp is ready to go. A great preventive measure mod....with a l'il bit-O' braggin rights.
