first step would be to flush and replace the transmission fluid and change the filter plus the diff oil.

my advise...1st prepare to overhaul ur gearbox,, the bukkk sound maybe is ur gear bush is wear orledi....change n see how??very cheap..yup hav to change the gearbox oil try the toyota gearbox oil.very good!!! try 1st .buy from toyota service centre...very good oil,, let me tell u bro ..ur gearbox hav a 1sec lopp is jst a starting point of ur gearbox going to rosak,,if 5sec loop pls be prepare..even u change the oil still a bit promblem,,i can help u to repair n give advise like new n overhaul less then rm 2.3k..serious..tq d

i was abt to ask this too... is it ok for bmw to use toyota gear oil?? back then when i was driving wira 1.6 auto, i was told to use only genuine proton gear oil cos the gearbox is super sensitive. In this case, how?

toyota atf on a gm/zf transmission hahahahaha hahahaha hahahahaha hahahahaha

one must be a dumb ass to do that hohoho

1) GM transmissions calls for a Dexron specification atf. In this case, a Dexron III.

2) Toyota Type I,II,III,IV are not Dexron specs, they contain friction modifiers and a different additive package.

can use, no problem, sure boleh, boleh punya, sama saja... sure can use, put water also can use, put minyak masak also can use, the question is can use for how long before the transmission self-destructs.

*PS: by saying filling in a gm transmission with toyota atf is of the most dumbest advice i have heard from someone who does not know what one is even talking about. if you have heard this from someone else, tell that person he/she is dead wrong.

dannybaba13...

are you sure ? i think you are under a lot of heat now..

maybe posting your reasons and findings might prove us wrong...

by the way guys, not all manufacturers spec's is accurate all the time..

Proton Gearbox always super sensitive... Driving may cause it to break :p

Have your car checked by professional technician. You may bring it to Sapura Auto for check.

E36 Year 1995 above, BMW used 4HP20 transmission oil that can use for 100 000 km (Auto Bavaria claim life-time warranty). But can replace with Dextron III and change every 40 000 km.

thanks for you guys opinions and suggestions,
my mech said 'bukk' sound, come from gear bush/mounting.....
kicking when shifting.... will change the ATF first then see what happen (use bm ATF)
i know, i cant run from reconditioning this bloody gearbox soon.... huh

Toyota oil? you dannybubu know what tokking you??? do get your claims right with proper facts to back it up before you start giving any advise. just wondering what you use for your engine oil, AXE brand??? minyak cap kapak?

help to repair? probably you need some help yourself? try getting a bentley manual as a first attemp. do make sure you get the one for the right make and model though.

toyota oil??? its not even the same grade or spec in the first place.

mine E36 318, it cost me 2.5k include new clutch plate, flywheel oilseal and all oil seal/ring that will cause leaking.
for 328i, net price a bit higher. Roughly the price is 3k. But it depent to part need to change. so the cost maybe slightly higher or lower than that.

just change ATF.... last monday

before changing ATF got some 'kick/jerk' in gear shifting (when shift up & down)

now the 'kick' minimize and not frequently as before, this time just 'kicking' when i drive slow ( 40 to 60km/h), but 80km/h to top speed no kicking. maybe there is something wrong with the 3rd gear i think...

looking for overhaul next month... anyone can give recommendations which workshop is good and in good cost too.

.

zul, u better go & overhaul yr gearbox like wat i did to my wifey's E36 325 which had the same problem then now evelithg smooth sailing
