Hi guys,Few weeks back, I've changed both of my rear wheel bearing due humming noise coming from the rear wheel. Therefore, I've asked my mechanic to have a look at grinding sound coming from the rear as well. The sound is usually noticeable when cruising around 70-80 km/h. My mechanic told me it's the rear differential bearing went kaput, and he advised to source for the whole rear differential. Other parts are verified okay e.g. long shaft, rear drive shaft, center support bearing, guibo. Can I just change the bearing, or I have to change the whole unit? If I were to replace the whole unit, where can I source for it? Can I just have it rebuild?Car is an E30 M40 manual.Thanks.
