E30 Gear Ratios

Some technical detail infor needed.... G240, 1st gear 3.722nd gear 2.023rd gear 1.32 G260,1st gear 3.832nd gear 2.203rd gear 1.40 which one is more powerfull according to this spec?thank you for your help.

It about acceleration..not abt power.

M20B20 129bhp... torque er..?? I think its 215 NM@ ???rpm on paper
M20B25 170bhp....torque is 225NM@ 4+++ rpm
...then go dyno and get the exact figures.

er..??? what am I talking I oso dunno...

Ha ha is ok....

My is 325i, which manual tran. which one will be peffer for better driving eperian. If I am not wrong the G260 will give more reponsive driving on this gear. correct me if I am wrong.

Aside from the gear ratios you also need to look at the final drive and the engine's torque curve. To get good acceleration, the rpm should drop to the fat part of the torque curve whenever you upshift.

Does it matters...???? haha..been using 260,240,242...now back to 240.

Have you been smitten by a Dogleg tranny? lagi syiok. I got one lying on the floor.

what i have only...ori 325i engine + G240 tranny + final 3.62 = first 3 gear was not respond as what I expected.

so thinking to change G260 or even dogleg as Zo mention wau... , but final 3.62 was ok, LSD will be coming plan if right ratio found.

my DOgleg with 3.25LSD....still over reving. but it was fun. Max speed at 5th gear...200kmh. thats all.

Now 240 getrag with 3.25....110kmh at 2500rpm..do your math.

So... overall what is your final opinion? dose it means G240 is actury better than G260 if put on 325i (base on your pesonal experian)?

With 3.62 my 4 gear can reach 200km and avarage 100km at 2200rpm+/-, I only feel that first few gear was not responsive enought.
