This is the 1st car in the convoy which the whole convoy will follow. Then there is the sweeper which is the 2nd to last car (under normal convoy rules) which keeps the pack in order from the back and to alert/pace the lead car, via communication. There is also the last car, which sweeps behind the sweeper which is intended to clear and abate the convoy of any obstacles from the rear. Finally there are drive marshalls who assist the lead, sweeper and last car to ensure formation of convoy, manage obstacles and allow the convoy a smooth and clear journey, closest example is when the king is escorted by 7 outriders on bikes......hope this helps</p></blockquote><p></p>
