No luck.Move on to remove the radio unit, by pulling out the volume knob & undo the screw inside. Pull out radio & clean. Proceed to undo 2 screws to remove cassette deck. Try the cassette door & to my surprise its working. It seems the cassette deck is not fitted snugly enough for the door mechanism to latch on. Re-fit snugly cassette deck & screw tight.
