Wait for F30 328i (save 100k) or buy now ?Love to hear you guys opinion !Abt time to change car.Currently driving CKD 2006 E60.Sakit hati ! Only 60k KM only.

If you want to be a driver, go for F30. If you want to be driven, go for F10.

The 3 is the driver's car then.
But funnily, most motoring editors went for the F30 320d over the 328i....unfortunately, the one word that came up with the 328i/528i engine-uninspiring.

Uninspiring? I just tested, very laju lar. Heads up display (HUD) was very good even in bright sunlight. I doubt F30 will come with HUD. Reasonably good space and handled well especially in sports suspension setting. If you have budget around 400k, this car is way better than the Merc equivalent which is the E250 CGI in terms of price.:top:

from the pics, the f30 looks more like a baby f10....if you are in need of a bigger car, go for the 5 otherwise, it will be worth the wait the next few months. since you are currently driving an e60, presumably 525, the f10 should have the edge at least on paper.

Hi Micky,
if u r using E60,then F10 will be your next ride:D
Why? F30 will be too small for you if compare to E60.
As abt driver or passener car issue....we need to ask ourself,do we really need to "race" the car for daily driving?i think most of the answer is no right?
me love to drive fast, and F10 dynamic driving control can satisy my need, comfort, normal, sport or even sport+,if still not enuf, tottally disable DSC,the car will back to life...for sure:)))
F30 may have better handling than F10 due to it size and weight.....but F10 is gd enuf for any daily street run,if u really hardcore for racing, then u will have to consider F30....:)))
Just my 2 cents only...:DD
cheers

Doesn't grab you by the balls type of car.........of cause, it is good. Its efficient, its the future ...just a tad bland. Like a straight As student who doesn't know who Obama is.... falls flat at Harvard entrance interviews.

I have tested 523i , 520d and 528i 2.0T.

523i
Same engine as my E60. Anyway obsolete.

520d
Torque good. Car feels heavy and bulky. Maybe due to no 4 wheel steering

528i 2.0 T

Torque good. Good midrange power but drop off near 5500 rpm.
Engine noisy compare to N52 i6.
The unit I tested , road noise is really bad compare to my E60.
Maybe due to RFT. My E60 is really quite ie. using Pirelli non RFT tires.
Do U feel the same ?

I gave a pass to 523i and 520d cause I feel they are too bland.
My E60 is M-Sport.

528i with M-Sport is the first F10 that is acceptable to me.

Read a lot of good reviews on F30 328i.
When will they launch F30 ?

correction 520d does not feel bulky its because it does not have IAS ( active steering )

i used to drive e60 525 2006 as well , the IAS make a different only at parking . if used to IAS 523 / 528 is only way . but IAS is pesky mine failed few time already. without IAS you get good road feel . like my old e46 no IAS , pure driving heaven.

problem is 520d is its noisy on the outside. but the torque..... i want 525d / 530d or 535d. ehhe best part
when driving e60 i cannot use sport mode often cuz it eat petrol like hell. in 520d i can drive in sport mode from KL to JB no problem. guilt free

Bro Dark1234, Can I ask whether you experienced any smell
Of diesel either inside or outside of your car so far? I'm considering
520d too and have this concern in mind. Hope you can clarify this
being a current user of "d".

NOPE , no smell at all inside or outside , same like petrol . the only drawback is when using the nozzle at petrol station, the handle sometime is dirty so have to wash hand after fueling up the car. but since i do it every 3 week now instead of weekly, this no problem at all

i just did , KL - > kluang -> singapore -> jb -> kluang and jalan jalan during CNY in singapore i shop around orchard road and few road and even in JB also went to Johor premium outlet for shopping and all this in less than 1 full tank, during gathering all my friend curse at the BMW diesel efficiency .

if i a using my e60 525 i have pump 3/4 time already.

the "d" is very addictive , now looking to replace my wife car with X6D or X5D next hehehe and if got Z4 D i will also consider it .

got a shock that day when i found out RON97 is RM 2.7/2.9 p/l !! diesel is RM 1.8 p/l

yes..it is silly to go back to petrol now. The fuel savings, the torquey drive......the Z4d!!!!! Now that is something worth waiting for!!!

If i buy 528i 2.0 T new , the cost will be 420k (inclusive of reverse cam + TPA)
Diff is not much. 10k.

What do you guys think abt buying grey 535i ?

If I can afford to buy & maintain, I'll choose 535 anytime.
