Hey guys. I've been reading alot about this digital AC unit for E36. Looks cool, a lot like the ones in the E39. It has just occured to me that i'm one of the "unfortunate" E36ers that doesn't have this. I was wondering if it is possible to fit it in?? Is it plug and play?? As in no modification needed?? If it is, how much is the AC unit???

Hi Malz,

E36 do have digital AC unit..and only avail for later model..97 and above. For mods ur existing is not recommended due to it is costly.

Sifu,
please confirmed.

In a way it's sort of plug & play in the sense that you don't need to cut wires and weld stuff. All you need to find is a half cut that comes with the digital air-cond control unit as well as the air-cond blower.

Price really depends on how much you source these items. Can range between low 1k to 2k, RM and that doesn't include the workmanship charges.

Wow. That much just to fit the digital AC unit? Hmmmm. Now i'm not sure if that's such a good idea. I'd rather change my spark plugs to iridium. Hahaha. Anyways. Thanx for the feedback guys. Maybe I'll reconsider it next time, when i blower KO or something.

Mine came with digital climate control unit or what you call it(Digital AC). Looks more modern but it's a very expensive unit.

I saw once on eBay UK(Used unit costs= 600 pounds). i can only imagine if the price is new.

I realised there's lot of half cut BMW, Merc Volvo in Malaysia. It's sad to see them ended up like that. The paint conditionon them looks good.

I wonder where they came from? Other country or local cars?
