For example, I know of an E90 320d which went through the same issue and faced a bill of around RM21k in total for the entire repair, engine swap and labour costs. Also in my opinion, get the workshop to help you source the engine because in the case of the 320d above, the first engine sourced was from an X1 20d which is basically the same N47 engine but because of the X-drive system, there are certain areas (e.g. oil sump) which can't be fitted into the standard E90 setup.
