Current E39 in the market

Hi Sifu,Always been a fan of E39, been looking for one for quite sometime since last year, not actively though.Not sure if should go for those in market one for lower price, then do it up, or get those nicely maintain one from forumer, need advice pls..Also, has anyone check out this unit before? Ah Keng, RM50000 for 520i year 1998 is way too high. Sumore year 1998 still in single vanos m52 engine, m52tu for 99/00, then m54 after year 2001.

Why choose the 520i but ignore the 523i or better with 528i?

Dealer price is always higher than direct owner. Allow some time for yourself to find a good unit in cheap price.

Minimum 523i... with option to stroke to 2.8 or 3.0 later Trust me... 520i is kinda lethargic. My car started off as a 520i.

I bought my 523i year 1997 in April 2009 directly from the 1st owner for RM 46 K! Though mileage was 240 K KM when i bought it but rest assured everything has been replaced with the whole car history file to back it up. Engine & Gearbox never been overhauled before despite the mileage. And it drives like a dream thanks to the TLC the previous owner gave her since day 1. No compromise on service. Everything replaced was original. The M52 is one robust motor.

To answer your question, if the car is well taken care off, though it's a high miler...you've got nothing to worry about.

Just to share info, earlier this year in May, paid RM 56k for a 1996 528i, 1 owner since new from AB, surprisingly low mileage at 36k km ( i have doubts about it being a reset figure ) but the interior and all else seems to suggest it is genuine. Regardless, been enjoying it with my dad since. Beautiful ride.

When i was in the market for E39, i looked upon 5 different cars (all from owners, don't waste time with dealers imo), and i settled for 5th one despite it having the highest mileage of them all. It was published in STAR Classifieds.
