Not safe.
If there is an accident, LPG being heavier than air will remains on the ground.
NGV on the other hand is lighter than air, thus it will goes up.
Also NGV has a very narrow lower and upper explosion limit, that is it is difficult to ignite.

And NGV is cheaper at @RM0.05/km, LPG at @RM0.07/km.

However, NGV system is expensive to install RM3K~RM5K.

what make us all afraid is.... LPG cars with installation quality like this is a moving BOMB among us.

most importantly those LPG tanks used is not designed to be used in high temperature environment like in cars especially in the boots where temperature is high...

no safety in mind at all when it comes to cost cutting...wait until got few cases liau only realize then too late liau...

Aiyoyo...! Why on earth wud they do that? Just to save some money? Its bloody unsafe. The cylinder is designed for indoor use, imagine once you leave it under the sun for several hours.. Gila ka

This is so scary.... just a few days after my post...

MALACCA: Two brothers who converted a cooking gas tank into a natural gas kit for their van paid dearly when it exploded, killing one of them.

Mohd Hailmi Ishak, 25, from Kampung Duyong, and his brother Rosli Ishak, 30, from Taman Tiang Dua, had stopped at a Petronas petrol station in Batu Berendam at about 7.50pm on Friday to refuel.

And NGV is cheaper at @RM0.05/km, LPG at @RM0.07/km.

LIFE = PRICELESS

NGV tank is designed to take up pressure of 3,000 psi hence it is heavier at ~ 45kg and more expensive ~RM1K
LPG tank is designed to take up pressure of 60-120 psi (lupa lah dah lama tak buka kitab) and lighter ~ 20kg and cheaper (RM150?).
From the newspaper reports, I deduce that they had fitted an extra tank (LPG) to their NGV system. The NGV filling is done at 1,500 psi and LPG tank can only take up 120psi, even if there is an overpressure valve fitted, I think it could not take up a sudden surge of 1,500 psi, which is more than 10 times it is designed for.
There was another incident some years back in Taman Wantan (?) where a baloon man modified the industrial LPG cylinder and it exploded. Among the victims is a young girl whose leg have to be amputated.
Moral of the story, we must take Pua Chu Kang's advise ... don't play-play, ar!

For those who are, or believe these "Malaysia Boleh" engineers can save you some bucks - THINK AGAIN!

If you fall for some petrol saving device on your own - I dun mind but anyone here thinking to do this kinda conversion just to save some at expense of other's life....well, you are not fit to drive a BMW and even be here.

Sorry, I really mean it.
