I know i have Jennifer Warnes but i dunno which CD and where the darn thing is.

Note to self: must not procrastinate cleaning up room.... one day...

Have heard of her music ... great reviews all round. But have not sad down and listened to em seriously. Patricia Barber, anyone ? WJ, you really bitten the ICE bug badly, haven't you ??? !!!

Cheers,

Bitten? Nah. More like rekindling some old memories. Dug out some vintage CDs in the bx the other night and found some of my fav Jazz numbers like Bob James/David Sanborn's Double Vision featuring the infamous track Maputo, some Larry Carlton Guitars, Dave Gruisin, Eric Marienthal etc.... Just like the good old 80s. Even found my Jap Sax, Sadao Watanabe. Man, I am feeling 18 all over again. Age must be catching up fast.

not to mention David Benoit, Film and the BBs, Rush, Pat Benatar and many others notables notes. ;)

Anyone famaliar with Jennifer Warnes' The Hunter? Track 7-9 is amazing.
ahh... track7 "Lights of Louisianne"... popular test track with audiophiles in the 90s... bought the album solely for that track... check out the famous blue raincoat for her take on Leonard Cohen...

the only Dave Gruisin music I know is from the fabulous baker boys soundtrack... well recorded... I bought it for the 2 tracks by michelle pfeiffer... watch the movie, listen to her singing my funny valentine and you'll probably agree with me her rendition has more more feel than that fake rocker on american idol...

anyone has lindsay lohan's album (the one with rumours)? how's the recording/sound quality? thanks

Lindsay's ti-ts are great man. I hear that she can sing too. I spent some time driving earlier in the day reminising about the 80s listening to Wham!.......... Boy oh boy, do I miss Top of the Pops, BBC Top 10 countdown on Thursdays on SW1 6.195KHz at 7p.m., Smash Hits magazine and most of all buying Pirated recorded Tapes of the Top hits from Victoria Music in Sungai Wang.

wj, 80s music don't sound good on car stereo like yours... they need to be played on caukia car stereo... you will enjoy the music better... else the poor sound quality sometimes irritates...

80s music was good fun... me also remember buying pirated (with lousy quality photostat cover) tape in victoria music... 2 live crew's as nasty as they wanna be... cannot find in shops then... farking power man their songs...

... don't have enough power (watts) to go further as I am running 100W RMS to the sub and another dedicated 100W RMS for each of the left and right channel. Power for each channel comes from 3 separate bridged 50W 2ch amps.
aik?! only 100 watts for your JL 12w3v2 (i assume) ka... kesian man that feller... that poor sub tension bcos comps get as much power per channel... no wonder he merajuk don't want to provide kick ass heart thumping bass... i think 350-400 for your JL would be just nice... upgrade amp la... ahkakaka... (when else got chan to cocok wj to upgrade)...

... Mine's a 10" la...
10"?! hmm... that's quite impressive man... hehe...

like that you should ditch the sub too... me don't quite buy that 2nd order 3rd order crossover stuff... at least get a good 12" in a properly designed enclosure and suitable amp first...

ok ar my try at this racun business?

I was given a CD yesterday that had a few track of Drums solo. Amazing. Will burn a copy and bring for TT this week. Bring your burners for a copy.

J.Warnes.....'Famous Blue Raincoat' ..... classic audiophile cd/record pressing..... as used by many hi-fi reviewers .......

If you are into strong voices, also try:
- Mary Black
- The Blue Nile e.g Hats, A Walk Across Rooftops etc. (I dont dig the music but sound quality etc. is superb!)
- Leonard Cohen stuff
- Diana Krall

More mainstream:
- Norah Jones...she's a nice girl isnt she?
- Joss Stone...she's nice too

And everyone likes Lindsay Lohan too right  ...she's a BIG girl now ....I mean it felt like only yesterday I was watching the movie 'Parent Trap' (Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson and of course Lindsay)
