Some update from paultan.org http://paultan.org/2012/03/09/castrol-edge-experience-nurburgring-sequel-set-to-move-on-to-track-challenge-round-to-determine-the-winner/ Well, seems that more than 4,800 people have tried their hand at the Castrol EDGE Experience Nurburgring: The Sequel Challenge on the Castrol Malaysia Facebook page over the past two months. The online virtual race qualifying round recorded a total of 47,000 km run, working out to over 390,000 virtual laps raced and equivalent to 9,750 hours of gaming time. The contest now moves into the second stage, a driving battle royale on March 16 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) to determine the ‘strongest’ Malaysian, who will then head on to Germany to tackle the legendary Nurburgring in a BMW M3. The Castrol EDGE Experience Malaysia-Nurburgring Challenge will witness the 20 finalists undergo an advanced driver training course before battling it out in a BMW to find the winner, who will be set for a once in a lifetime experience tackling the Nordschleife. “It has been an eventful two months and we’ve seen some amazing performances on the virtual race track, but now it’s time to move from virtual to reality to determine who will be the ‘strongest’ Malaysian to take on The Green Hell,” said Castrol’s marketing director for Malaysia Singapore & Philippines, Mark Ng. The four-day trip is set to deliver memories that will stay with the winner for a lifetime. The showcase of course is the two-day driving experience that will see one power drifting, flooring it on the hot laps, weaving around the slalom course and finishing up with guided laps with BMW motorsport racers around the legendary Nurburgring. Stay tuned to find out who that lucky person will be.
