My 323i is only one week old. It's been raining for the past the few days. I tried getting it washed in Carnauba autospa in Glenmarie, twice I drove there and twice it rained halfway before I even reached. So the third day I decided to just go to the normal RM10 car wash.Fuck. I see fine scratches all over the bonnet and other places of the car, these called swirl marks. My questions are;1) Is this normal for all RM10 carwash, and what about the RM25 wash at Carnauba?2) I would like to start the DIY and car detailing on my own. Would you recommend me Zaino, and does Zaino help to disappear the fine scratch marks?3) I live in a condominium therefore the car is parked outdoor and I would have to rely one buckets to wash the car. Has anyone been in the same position yet still DIY and detailing their own car? Please share your experience.4) Is there a Zaino autospa just like Carnauba autospa?Thx!

I only wash my car at 1upautospa at sunway.. only RM12 and they take care of the car .. very proper wash at cheap price.. got promotion now RM80 per month and u can wash your car everyday if u want to..so, if it rains everyday also no problem..(check with them if still available, coz limited availability) and so many other promotions lah..and they only use microfiber cloth and Meguiars' products .. it is at 29,Jalan PJS11/14.. just mention my name and they'll take care of your ride :) i don't wash anywhere else but here..even if it is so dirty, i ll wait till i have the chance to go there or wash myself.. here's a map to the location.. it is the area behind ESSO next to Sunway Pyramid.. u can zoom on this map ..

As for the fine scratches , just ask them if they would remove it for u.. mention my name and BMWCM .. 1UPAUTOSPA is a yellow building on that road.. there are 2 yellow buildings there , so just have a look at signboard lah.. www.1upautospa.com have pics there... ask for elwin or marc or kewin .. nice guys that would surely make your day :)

ps: if your ride is parked outdoor, then worth it to get nano titanium coating..i can vouch for it..

they wash my bikes too.. see how shiny it is :)

Hi there
i guess u have a dark colour car, 2ndly, its just 1 time washing but it could add a more marks on it if it is done by some old rugs, would have probably pick up some sand or did not rinse off properly...

see how deep is yr damaged ? whether its swirls or hologram.....

check this out even new cars have....

not surprising, why by the production plant out to the store to the dealer...there are at least a handful of ppl have touch on the car....

the predeliver indian guy even give a quick wax t o cover up & evidence wax residue left all over the plastic trims

As Nazrie recommended 1UpAutoSpa at Sunway. I would also recommend this place to anyone else who is looking for a reliable car wash centre.

Nazrie, Thanks for the recommendation. For a normal RM12 car wash I do think they do a good job.

I'll probably sign up for the monthly package. Very attractive since you can have unlimited washes for a flat rate of RM80 per month.

Bro, what is this nano titanium coating? How much will it cost roughly?

first they will do a full valet on your car using Meguiar's products .. remove all normal light scratches and swirl marks etc.polish ..basically make yours look like new lah interior and exterior.. mine BECAME new :) then finally , they will put nano titanium coating on it.. basically it is like a sealant.... it creates a hard coating over your paintjob . I was told they have the hardest coating in the market..level 9H (wateva that is :) ) so your paint will be more resistant against chipping, light scratches etc.. but the best thing is they give u one year warranty.. means if it is not as shiny as u thought it would be ,just go back there and tell them and they'll gladly make it shiny back for you.. even if u caused it like maybe your maid wiped your car and make scratches on it,they'll just make your car look sharp again..these guys are nice. The car is easier to clean as the grime doesn't really stick to it. Even after rain , my car still looks sharp.. It makes the car SO shiny that from afar ,it is actually like the shine camouflages the dirt when actually there are some dirt on your car..upon closer inspection only do u notice the dirt and grime.. basically dirt and grime also dont really stick as before.. sometimes I dont wash my car for weeks coz I dont have time to wash on my own or go to 1upautospa but the car still doesnt look as dirty as it should be except for the brake dust on the rims..except that it actually is upon CLOSE inspection..

this on the track day... after whacking it..still looks good..same goes for my bikes.. everytime I go there to wash, they'll make it shiny again..I LUV IT and for RM12 only.. u don't have to go back there but I just prefer to as for RM12 I can't get a decent wash elsewhere or even for RM20 for that matter..

here are some pics after doing the nano coating and after 3 months , pics on track day..:

oops.. forgot.. price is RM1688 .. then u get free membership which entitles u to some other privileges .. if still available(check with them) u get free 5D4N at 4 star hotel in either Phuket , Bali or Bangkok and 3D2N at local 4 star hotels.. like in penang is at Heritage Hotel on Burmah Road.. and few other privileges like RM50 per polishing for your other cars unlimited..etc etc..i cant remember..ask 'em lah... but if your car is still new , so u dont need polishing and corrections done, u can just get normal polish and nano coat it for several hundred RM. I had my bikes nano coated as well and it s very worth it for my bikes considering the grime it picks up..

I have tried Diamond Brite ..it sucks.. and PPS teflon coating ,FunferFahrer has tried and it sucks as well ..FF also had his car Nano titanium coated now and satisfied..

Great Job on yr Car!

nazrie,

looks like 1upautospa did a great job. If ur popping there anytime soon, buzz me & i will meet u there. Hv a friend to go along is better la...I hv no time to detail on my own & need a good detailer, but cost reasonable, not cut-throat! Hv a great 2010 bro.

Happy New Year 2010 everyone :)

Waaah.... am impressed. One of your shots really looked as though you're looking at a mirror on a cloudy day! :top:

yeah.. before this, my cars were full of swirl marks n scratches especially the boot.. now I dont let anyone wash except myself or 1UpAutoSpa .. what I m impressed is they don't wipe your car to dry , but blow with air then pad dry with microfibre cloth .. and for RM12..mana mau cari... Jeff my number 0132452525 .. I ll give u a call next week lah as i am still in Hong Kong :) take care guys.. no more sakit hati days of having our rides washed... after having nano coated if u dont have time to wash also, just spray off the dirt with water and move off (malas days n no time)

I read somewhere that we are not suppose to polish & wax for new paint for at least 60 days during the curing period, is that true?

Zaino vs. Titanium coating, What do you think?

some say 30..some say 60 .. dunno .. have not tried zaino , so dunno..Anyone care to share?

Have used (and still using) Zaino but haven't use titanium coating......

As far as I know , Zaino is just another brand of car care products like Meguiars , Swissol , etc etc for polishing waxing etc... Nano titanium coating is sort of protectant/sealant which protects the shine after polishing bla bla bla.. 1Upautospa uses Meguiars' products before sealing it with nano titanium coating...
