Don't know if it's the cool weather (hence denser air, hence car runs better), but it seems to me that my vehicles are running better on the new Caltex 97 than other brands, Shell V-Power included.Anyone else experience this?

I think my car runs smoother with Caltex but will try VPower next as i was told it has the highest concentration of engine detergents. Not too sure though....

Sounds good
will give it a go
Better than Petronas?

I don't pump Petronas cos there's none around me, but I do have a Shell, an Esso, and the Caltex for comparison. Outta the 3, Caltex seems to feel the best.

my fuel comsumption went up with caltex techron 97 surprisingly. I switched back to shell biasa and get better milage-- more than 20miles more. anyone with that experience?

very subjective topic here , i tried the caltex techron my car fc went up , so i change it back to my usual shell , now im trying mobil this is my second rm50 bucks, from the rate im going i willl get around 250km per rm 50 bucks (which is 26liter per rm 50 bucks )maybe i will try caltex again when this tank finish since alot of good remark from forummers about caltex .....

Don't think you should be comparing 97RON vs. 92RON, and furthermore, 20 miles (or do you mean KM?)? That's not a great difference?

My personal experience is that fuel economies pretty much stay constant regardless of what fuel I use.

:D Hi bro,

yr car run smoother means more pick up and less fuel consumption?

Better pick up, smoother idle, but same fuel consumption.

I could feel the Techron is smoother...but FC went up as well. Not too sure if I was lead footed when I was on Techron :)

i feel it too. again like you said, smoother but fc went up. so i filled up about 50bucks last week and just try and notice my driving style...

reason why fc went up... since the engine smoother, i realised i tend to rev the car more. usually changing up at 4-4.5K instead on usual 3K......no wonder fc sucks :D

Dunno if it's 3hp or not, but it certainly feels smoother/quicker!
Guess I am not imagining things about using different petrol. Tried the Caltex Techron 97 before. Engine felt smoother than Shell Green but the FC went up too.... maybe I was revving more. Now back to using Shell Green.... got Bonus points mar....

Wow, Necc, if you could feel the 3hp difference, you sure have a very sensitive butt. Give me 10+ hp for my SLOTH and I would not notice a difference.

I am not techie expert.... but i hear (dont ask me the source)that Techron have a higher % of turning into gas (evaporated) while vehicle is parked under the sun, this due to the petrol additives that makes combustion more "smoother".... me donno the technical expect of it....

So, I take it that The Necc's car is usually parked under cool indoor parking area, while the rest are parked under hot sun, so much so that it does affect the FC??? Also, being heavy footed does contribute.... no??

Pls dont bang me for suggesting silly stuff....
