Nov 4 marks a night of Beatle mania and will see Liverpool’s No. 1 Beatles Tribute Band – The Mersey Beatles – take to the stage from 11pm. The Mersey Beatles are also the official Beatles Band for Liverpool and the Cavern City Tours, owner of the world famous Cavern Club. Known for its incredible strong stage presence, enthusiasm and zest, The Mersey Beatles are among the closest you can get to the excitement of seeing the legendary Beatles in concert. Like the original Fab Four, the members of The Mersey Beatles were all born in Liverpool. The band was formed in 1999 by Dave Howard (as George Harrison), Jason Murray (as John Lennon), Brian Ambrose (as Ringo Starr) and Steven Howard (as Paul McCartney) and started its career by joining the annual Liverpool Beatles Festival in 1999. The band then performed at the Albert Dock, on a floating stage on the River Mersey, broadcast by the US cable network CNN and it became a major boost to the tribute band’s profile. Since then, bookings from major venues around Britain followed. The Mersey Beatles has since toured all over Britain and played at both rock clubs and festivals. The show is part of a two-show stop for the group, the other appearance will be at a charity Dinner in aid of the Kidney Foundation of Malaysia, at the Sunway Resort Hotel, Petaling Jaya on Nov 2.
