Its Jenons la....here's a sample pic
that's a 0.5W LED.... it's damn bright.... if it's from Osram, they call it Dragon LEDs.....

fairly easy to fabricate..... since there's a reference design now..... B)

beemerster,

my opinion : the rear view mirror is fitted with sensors that works along with the ignition key remote and it has more features that most latest car would have bcoz of sensor visibility from outside yr car.Things like alarm, movement sensor in the car and near windscreen/windows, yr power window up/down, to on the cabin lights at night in dark parking area, car search and etc., all these sensor point is there, so becareful when u try to open up the rear view mirror to replace d LED which will cost u more than the brightness u were looking at. I think the last batch was upgrade with factory fitted LED with more watts.

p/s anything brighter in the cabin will make the dashboard panel luminaires dissappear to sight.

just my opinion.

tq

BP8000,

thanks for the advise bro. yup, i'm aware the later models have got battery-less hexagon key ignition etc etc.

dont think i'll actually meddle with the Amber LEDS before consulting mechanics. Will be dropping by at some workshops this weekend. Will update you guys with the outcome.

Cheers!!
