Hi Guys... n Gals..:wink:My car's mileage is approaching 30k km soon and I need advice on what to do when I send it in for BSRI. I think I will choose Ingress to do it based on what I have read so far in regards to their excellent service. Can the experienced here recommend me what I can get them to check/maintain/replace based on my mileage? And one more thing... this also means my official warranty is coming to and end (2 years)... have anyone of you have issue claiming the so called good will 3rd year warranty (provided your car less than 60k km mileage)....Appreciate comments and feedback on this.. I really want to send my car in for service before CNY.... thanks

Better book early.. at least one week queue.. on normal days.. now ITS CNY HOLIDAY!

Just send them the car and tell them the warranty time line, they will know what to do. They will try to claim whatever possible for u because its BMW Malaysia's cost, not SC cost. SC make the labor.

For the record:

Warranty - 60k km or 2 yrs whichever comes first
BSRI - 60k km or 3 yrs whichever comes first

P.S I changed all my brake pads and discs at my last BSRI service.

At what mileage was your last BSRI ?

How did you manage to get them to change the pads and discs bro? Mine has 4 months of BSRI to go and is at 44k, but the front pads still have 80% and rears 70% left (measured by SC) Discs barely scored too. No chance for me to get them changed under BSRI...unless you have a way and can tell me. :48:

Brake kuat kuat.... ha! ha! But seriously, the sensor sometimes can go cuckoo..... I think mine had some 6k km left, but after a few hard brakes, the "alarm" came on and co-indicentally visually also confirmed it. I guess it boils down to driving habits..... :D

Now, I need to change my driving habit a bit now that I no longer have BSRI.

Ok, that's for your pads. But how'd you manage to get your discs changed too? :7:

Appointment made

I just called the Service center... as my engine oil usage is approaching 12,000 km, it is recommended to change under your own cost for every 10,000 km interval (they don't reset the car service indicator) for both oil and oil filter. I think i'm fine with it. Better not push it. What do you guys think? My driving style ranges from normal to aggressive (high speed) depending on occasion and lots of highway driving.

Besides that, as my warranty is going to end soon, I'm sending it in for a full inspection so that they can claim for me if there's wear n tear. But in the event if they can't find any fault, the inspection cost is covered by me as well. Sigh.....

Sometimes... i think this BSRI thingy is just a marketing gimmick...

Not really, SB. Full inspection under BSRI is at 50k and I'll get there before mine expires. Unfortunately you haven't even reached 30k yet.

If your car needs something, the dealers will do/change it, but it must be supported by the service info data recorded in your key fob, otherwise they can't claim it from BMWM. It's as simple as that. My brakes show something like 60k left in the data, so the SC tried to help me by measuring the pads manually just in case the sensor is out. But no go...the service info is accurate. :1:

Some of these maximising BSRI benefit techniques not very healthy to discuss in the forum because some are really lame and below the belt techniques.. :4:

If reveal to much, nanti SC kena reprimand. That why the E9x meet arranged by our E9x princess is a must to attend.. many such "technical" briefings.. :3:

Hallo! He acknowledged that the brake pad sensor is sometimes out and HE decided to check manually since usually by 40-50k, the pads are near replacement. He was being a good SC. Lame and below the belt? Don't get carried away. :1:

My understanding, unless it stated otherwise in your S & P.

Warranty - 2 years with unlimited mileage. You can ply north-south daily and still cover this warranty for any faults, excluding wear n tear.

TQ

I got my front disc changed too.... at the 45k - 48k km range

This is the part that puzzles me. Your discs can't be that badly scored after 40-50k. I can understand pads needing replacement by that mileage, but disks? :7:

That was a surprise to me too as I wasn't expecting a disc change job when I sent in my car for service... Booked a 9am and was expecting to get my car back by lunch for appointment, that's when they told me I'd gotta wait for another 4-5 hours for the disc change job and they don't have spares so gotta transfer it from their puchong branch....

Did you experience of shuddering when braking at speed? Maybe your discs were warped and that's why they changed it.

Hello all bros... just wanna check with you all since you were discussing the brake pad and disc issue on the BSRI and warranty. i have a question to all sifu here...recently, i hear krekkk krekkk krekkk sound coming out from my wheel when braking. i believe it is due brake pad rubbing the disc. Is it a normal sound? The sound is quite loud and very annoying. last month i had problem with brake sensor on left front tyre, sent to SC and they had replace it since my car still under warranty. Mileage 35k in 1.5 years. i'm not sure whether they had replace the brake pad and/or the disc. SC agent didn't informed me about this. Anybody have same problem, loud sound while braking?

kreekkk means brake not heated up yet.. need to bring it up to operating temperature. Still krreeekkkkk when heated ka?!
