Tried searching for this topic but it appears not much feedback in the forum on the GIII. Has anyone tried this tire out ? Would appreciate some feed-back.As always, the 205/55/15 tires are darn elusive .... B) So far, I've only found these options :1) Bridgestone GIII (Thai-made) - fresh stock RM310 / pc2) Michelin MXV-8 (Thai-made) - inconsistent availability RM400 / pc3) Falken Azenis ST-115 (Japan) - last set in Stamford but 2001-production RM360 / pcSo obviously my choices are now limited to the GIII - anyone reviewed it ?Thanks in advance.

I swear by the GIIIs but mine is Japan made and not Thai made. Very grippy especially in the wet. Contis cannot match its traction. Even Dunlop FM901 (Japan made) which cost more, does not come close to GIII's performance. Its rather hard wearing too compared to Yoko AVS Sports.

Dont know about Thai quality. Give it a try.

Good tyres in the wet - NOKIAN! Finish tyres. But they're pretty costly. About RM680 per pc.

205/55/15 is not a common size... so there's always a premium to pay for it..

heard from a birdie that Pirelli Dragon would be coming up with this size but don't know when it'll finally reach our shore.. sigh...

Latest update - Yoko ES100 also available at RM310 / pc.

Heard it's a nice sticky (grippy) tire but wears out fast. Does anyone know if it's quieter than the GIII ?

ES100s are highly regarded..... wanted them myself but couldnt be bothered to track a reasonably priced set in 195/60s (my preferred size :) ).

Check out reviews in Tirerack.com..... ES100s come out on top in most comparison tests.... problem is some people think they are only good for a while then they get noisy lah etc.....

Maybe u could pm shaifulo.... I know he runs them (or at least used to run them) and he sounded really satisfied with them (i think he runs 195/55 or something.....). Good luck dude!

Used to have ES100 (195/50x15) on my wagon at the rear (GY F1 GSD3 at front). Nearly every time I braked hard, the rear wheels would lock up, in dry conditions. In the wet, it locked up in even moderate braking conditions. So, I guess for this size, the grip of the ES100 ain't that good.

Was surprised as from the look of it, it should be a rain tyre. But in fact, it is more of a dry weather tyre.

Traded these in for another pair of GY F1 GSD3. So now GY F1s all around. Still locks up but have to brake harder to do so.

Tyres are probably good if you are into drifting and sliding.

OK, I just changed to GIII's this evening ..... couldn't wait already. Will put up some feed-back in a few weeks time once the tires are "scrubbed" in.

These tyres do excellent in corners. Go and whack those sharp bends and you will know what I'm saying. :D

Brother Koryong,
How much didja pay for them? & where?
I'm on 16s so probably looking at 215/55/16 or even 225s if price is good.
Thanks in advance! ;)
Cheers!

Ken,
if you're on 16" then your choices are vast ! The GIII is excellent like Mikeong said, but in my humble opinion, my personal choices would be Falken ST115 (super sticky & quiet) and GoodYear F1 GSD3 (quiet & super wet tire).

Unfortunately these 2 tires didn't have the correct size for my e30 15", so my choice was confined to the GIII. Still, no regrets ... :D I paid RM310 each.

Anyway, you can look around the tire shops like Hup Shun or MPS, both in Sunway & compare prices. For 225 16", it's probably about 400 +/-

koryong.. beh tahan leh.. hehehehee.

let me know how's the progress of the GIII.

My GIII have been good to me. I think they are pretty responsive. I have no idea how much they cost cause when I got the E30 it came with the tires. And since they are pretty new, I had lots of traction.
I need to replace my fronts asap. And was shopping around for another set of GIII to match the rears. I'm currently running 205.60.15 so need to find something the same or smaller i.e. 195.55.15

How much are those GIII in 195.55.15? and where to buy them. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
