I'm rather dissatisfied with the current braking capabilities of my 325, so I'm exploring options to improve the brakes on the car.First thing I'd like to try is better brake pads and new fluid, perhaps SS braided lines if not too prohibitive.Well, what I would really appreciate is some recommendation on the types of brake pads and where to find them for a good price. My preference is something low dust, but provides better performance than stock. On the other hand, anyone know if PBR/Axxis Ultimates are available in Malaysia? Please help

Get the 330i brakes from flyingsingh..:top:

I would if I could! But my pockets are pretty shallow, and those are probably way too much brakes for daily driving. I just want something more secure with better feel. Any experience with aftermarket pads?

Just replaced OEM Rotors, Original Pads and brake sensors all round for RM1150. Not bad after all. Steel braided hoses will added soon. For aftermarket pads, I have read some good reviews on HAWK. The other usual ones I hear is ATE, EBC, FERODO..etc. You can get them on ebay. Wanted to go for aftermarket brake sets but 2weeks back my brakes failed on me and had screeching even without applying brakes. So no choice had to go back with originals due to the urgency. Next time around will try out.

Which are you referring to bro? 330i brakes? If yes then look up for recent thread from "ramsing" or can PM him as well.

Hahaha yeah I'm trying to avoid that emergency so doing my research now. The only problem I have with stock is the amount of brake dust.

I believe performance pads disperse more brake dust than stock ones.

Some do, but some are designed to maintain or exceed the stock performance with much less brake dust. Don't quote me on this, but I think ceramic type will have less brake dust. e.g EBC redstuff, Axxis Ultimates etc.
Heard great things about the Axxis Ultimates, but have no lucky looking for it on the internet (in Malaysia). I'm leaning towards EBC pads simply because vendors stock it, but gotta read up a little more first

Before you embard on this, better check your brakes..... as far as I know with my limited knowledge, the e36 has wonderful braking capabilities. Changing the brake pads may not give you the desired result. If you just changed the rotor, then your braking will be sluggish unless you do bedding first. also hard braking on new rotors will warp the disc and cause wobbling .... my advise will be to change to braided lines first ... this will remove the spongyness in the braking , bleed your brakes when you do this make sure no air bubbles in the lines , better yet... flush the brake system.

Then test it out.

I just change 2 days ago. Brake pad using original and rotor go for Brembo. Superb braking and cost between rm500 to rm550 for front.
