Ask an aunty on the street she might think a Toyota Camry is a status symbol. A difficult quality to quantify.Design : My colleague drives an Audi A4 2.0 Quattro and I must admit the interior design of Audis these days are quite breathtaking. Peer into an A8 and you'll see what I mean. But again, what's good design is largely a subjective thing. Some may prefer the understated but technical design language of Audi. Others may like the angular look of the Mercedes. Whilst others may prefer the edgy designs from BMW. It's a personal thing, design....Comfort : NOT Audi, that's for sure. I've ridden in a variety of Audis - A6, A4 - and their suspension is universally hard. Every bloody bump in the road gets through to the interior. Mercedes-Benzes are far better at cossetting passengers with a soft ride quality, but you pay when the roads get twisty. Body roll sets in pretty quickly and you'll feel like you're on a boat at sea. BMW's on the other hand, usually have the best ride/handling compromise. Firm but not hard ride quality, coupled with agile handling. Compare an S6, AMG E65/55 and an M5 and you'll see the playing field much more even with ride quality and handling on a more even footing.Reliability : Can't comment on this much, as I've only ever owned BMW's. But if my cars are anything to go by, they are pretty darned reliable. My E39 has done 7 years without a single major breakdown.</blockquote>
