Hello all sifu, im eyeing an e39 528 or 523,Ned know more on bmw maintenance or some kind of common problem.hope can get more info on it.Tqvm

Thx alex....just scare maintenance too costly so b4 just check n see...
If not later wallet got big hole

on the save side just set aside about rm1k a month on average for wear and tear items :)

It's good to add another RM10k to your budget. This RM10k is for you to change all the necessary parts right after you bought it to prevent breakdown or more damage. This is because you're buying a 2nd hand car that is already more than 10 yrs old so of course there are things to be changed. If don't want problem can always buy new car, rite?

Myself already spent RM16K in refurbishing my E39 in 6 months ownership, never regret buying it at all. Now car is almost like brand new from showroom 16 years ago, am happy bcoz 16yrs ago the car is worth RM300k in the market. I got it for RM36K + repairs RM16K = RM52K only.. 1st of all after buying you MUST change all the pulleys, beltings, water pump, radiator hoses. Then only after that you can focus on the handling dept.

And a bit of knowledge about E39 also helps in owning it bro...Just try to get one which has been TLCed by the previous owner/s ya and get it checked by a good trusted mechanic b4 you finalise the deal.

fulama.....like this ned collect money sin lu...even sell of my current ride to get e39 oso ned standby more bullet to get it repair n others work:burnout:

If u don't want to do it all oso can, just prepare to always send your car to the workshop only maaa....

What do u expect? All E39 is already 10yrs old and above laa...

Do it right, and you'll get a fantastic marvellous piece of engineering...

if you have 10k in hand u have peace of mind owning an e39 provided the gb does not kong. but if u have less does not mean u have to worry. what if i say u can save a lot by diy.

if you are attracted by low price, think twice!

if you are addicted by the driving pleasure, die-hard!

If want to lower expenses it's better idea to look at other makes. Like what bro 5150 said, BMW is not a car that a good accountant will consider.

it's heavy on the wallet and it also demands to be driven with a heavy foot :) ... manyak ooomph :D

Haha....lama lama repair ok la....mth mth repair sure wallet on fire....
Foot shiock ah....hehehe sure lo...

To save yr wallet, get an honest mech and get a good part suplier in KL..i always order parts from supplier in KL to deliver and my reliable mech does iT for me..so far am so happy with it.
