was thinking of a supercharger kit,can any sifus advice me pls..the car is real under..tq

Supercharger will cost you almost as much as getting a 328 engine upgrade, while I presume the power increase is just about 30-50hp on wheels.

Unless you are thinking of saving on the roadtax then it is a good choice, do ensure your engine is in good condition prior to the upgrade.

Best of luck

thanks,or should i just fit on a 325 as the road tax for 328 is a killer..

Yo bro!!! you got an e46 and an e36 coupe? well what a co-incident; I have an e46 and an e36 coupe too. I just transplanted a 98 M42 which uses electric fan. Power wise it's ok maybe because mine a manual and already fitted with high cam.

Vanos engine

Hi guys, its nice to know there are so many e36 coupe owners of late! I have a non-Vanos 320i, it was moody and sluggish so i tried looking for a 328 or 325 engine. Searched several potong kereta shops in KL and JB with no luck. My mech found a '95 Jap spec half cut 320i saloon in JB and convinced me to use that engine & gearbox. I wasn't keen but there were just no 2.5l or 2.8l half-cuts on sale. Anyway, after the transplant, the "new" engine is surprisingly torquey and can pack quite a punch. Unfortunately, the ECU for the saloon half-cut is not compatible with the power windows & sunroof for the coupe. I left the sunroof disabled but had to buy new windows switches and other stuff from S'pore which cost $900 per window! The windows also don't drop/go up slightly anymore when the doors open, which is a characteristic, stylish feature of the coupe. The half-cut only cost 5.2k, but after replacing the usual frequently worn bits, plus windows and labour charges, its touching 12k. From what I hear, there are no coupe half-cuts being brought into M'sia. The Jap spec I got also comes with an immobiliser which can be a real pain. So, proceed with caution. There are some mechanics in Segambut who can advise you on the super-charger. Go talk to them. Goodluck!

Bro here is my story; my coupe is a 1993 318is manual and the 1998 M42 engine that I transplanted was from a Jap 318ti auto which has ews too. My mechanic is so good at what he is doing that he disable the ews and manage to get everything works like it is from the factory. It all boils down to electrical and system knowledge of the e36. I am very happy with his work and it cost me less than RM12k.

well,i suppose this is not gonna be a happy ending just yet..
hearing wat MANAMOHAN just said, well i suppose we can still wait till the prices of the supercharger drops before i get it modded!:)
might as well, since my 320i is not gonna take me anywhere but look good only..
kekekek, thanks guy..if any of u find something good let me know..
tamade:so when u gonna come out cruzing together?

well not necessary gonna be a sad ending my friend. tell me what you really want and i might able to get you the info. my coupe has a very good ending. it's not the end yet actually because now it's still in the process of beautifying it. wait bro 0-100 will look you up and we can go cruise. Btw is yours a manual or auto?

Intresting thread, Tamade. You got mail, by the way. 0-100, I suggest you seek out Tamade's guy then. I agree the 320 coupe is good for posing, but it has lovely handling and a great engine... when its in the right mood. It can be a very satisfying car when pushed hard, and it truly deserves the BMW badge. Which is why I've kept mine for 5 years thou I really really wanted to get rid of it at times. I've spent a fortune on it, luckily I live in JB and most parts are cheaper in S'pore. Plus, they're original. Anyway, cheers guys!

Yo bro manamohan, I talked to my mechanic abt your prob and he said that it's just wiring. But to fix your prob it may not be cheap because a lot of diagnostic need to be done. Unless your mechanic/wireman splice all of your wiring, there is still hope for your window to roll down a little and sunroof works.

Ok mate, thanks, appreciate it. I really miss those windows dropping down a bit:top: Thanks again.
